Typical KOA with crowded sites. We were in a premium site but could not see the view because the only place to park the truck was in front and across the site. Could not put the awning out because it would have hit the neighbors RV. The premium sites are designed primarily for Motorhomes where you can enjoy the view out the front window. The road in front of the premium sites goes to a restaurant and is a parade of traffic all day long. Delivery truck at 6:30 am. The dog walking area is very nice. Staff was helpful. We used it, as a base for doing the tourist things, it would never be a destination for us. We would probably not stay here again because we got very little for the price.
Very clean park with a good host. The sites and roadways are very tight and truck parking is a problem. We could not put the awning out because a truck was in the way. We used it as a base to do the tourist things in the area. There are a lot of permanent RVs in the park but there are no Junkers. Neighbors are friendly. Very good dog area. We would stay here again.
Good place to base to visit St Charles. Good concrete sites that are very close together. Some jet aircraft noise but not a problem during the night. Park is very clean and well kept. Lots of cable channels but some are not clear. Personally, I think it is a little expensive for what it is.
This was a great place to stop for the night. It is well maintained and very clean. There is lots of grass area to walk your dog without getting in other campsites. Our site was large enough for us to stay hooked up and was so level all I did was drop the stabilizer jacks. Our site also had a covered picnic table. The roads are stone and in good condition. They even offered fire wood if we wanted a campfire. I was concerned about highway noise because it is on a frontage road, however, the frontage road is a good distance from the highway and the highway noise was not heard. I would plan a stop here again and if I had anything to do in the area I would definitely stay here.
We liked this park and generally it was in good condition. We filled a grocery sack about half full with trash left from the former visitors to the site we had, some of it was quite old. I suspect that they do not check or clean sites after use. Spaces are average size and were easy to get in and out of. The roads are in good condition.
This is a private campground that we enjoy staying at. There are only a few sites with full hook ups. They are plenty long and easy to get into and out of. We needed a couple of leveling blocks to get level. The sites have a real fire ring with a movable grill surface, not a wheel rim, and they also have a charcoal grill at each site. There is nothing to do except enjoy the area. It is very quiet and thick with trees. Pull though sites are gravel as are the roads. There are no facilities such as pool, laundry or showers. AT&T phone service is iffy, the Verizon Air Card works. There are a few TV stations that you can get. Setting up a satellite dish is a maybe with all the trees If you want a cold beer at the end of the day there is a small bar in the office area. The owners are very good people and will help you with anything you need. We stay here every time we come to this area to visit family. Passport America is accepted. Credit/Debit cards are not accepted, Cash or Check only.
We liked this park. It is well maintained and comfortable. There is shade and the sites are a decent size with mature trees. We could not get any TV reception and cable is not offered. I was unable to get a Wi-Fi signal at the site. (Not sure it is offered). There is a section for seasonal folks that are the neatest looking best maintained we have run into. The roads are in good shape. The excessive amounts of rain have caused them some problems but they are taking care of them quickly. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
This park is beautiful. There are lots of permanent residents and they are very friendly. The small beach on the river is nice. The laundry does not have hot water and the floor was dirty. The water pressure was so low that we used the on board tank and pump when showering-even the Oxygenics shower head dribbled. We would stay there again but not plan to get laundry done there.
We stopped for an over night. The park was full. It is well maintained and the sites are a comfortable size. They have planned activities for the kids. We were level enough to leave the travel trailer and truck connected. Roads are gravel but not rough. Water & electric service were good. For the amount of families with kids the facility was very quiet at our site.
This campground is well kept and the staff is friendly. The folks ahead of us were advised where the drinking water was available. I thought they did not get a site with FHU. When we registered they told us that we could not drink the water provided at the site and where the drinking water was available. That was a problem, as we did not have anything to put water in except the trailer fresh water tank. I was concerned about connecting the site water because the actual problem with the water was not explained, and I did not want to contaminate the trailer water system. I did connect the water so we could use the shower and threw away the filters after we disconnected. At the next campground I flushed out the entire water system with a strong load of chlorinated water. The sites were with full hook up. Our site was shaded, but the units were extremely close and vehicle parking is a problem. The roads are in good condition. The WI-FI was not usable. Nearly all the sites were seasonal sites. Had they told about the water problem when we made the reservation we would have looked elsewhere.
We are pleased with the facility and love our site. If the facility were full it would be really crowded with rigs very close together. It is well maintained. They do not have trash pick up at your site. With our slide and awning both out we are encroaching on the next sites, however they were not occupied when we arrived. The facility is somewhat expensive for the offering with the exception of the water front sites; the view is great. Only 4 of the 17 waterfront sites are occupied when we arrived. The second day a MH parked next to us, there is about three feet between the slides. The laundry room is small, just two machines, dryers take forever to dry, but clean. There are fees attached to the extras such as showers and WI-FI. The WI-FI works well.
Very friendly and helpful people staff this RV Park. They gave us good information on where to go the get the necessary house keeping chores done. The gravel roads are terrible with lots of potholes. Our picnic table was rotted to the point that one seat was broken and the other seat support was collapsed. It appeared that permanent residents occupied all of the sites with a nice view of the water. We chose not to stay in the park except to sleep. We did not tour 100% of the park. We could not get the WI-FI signal, however; just across the water the visitor center has good WI-FI in the parking lot. We would not choose this park to stay in again.
Hilltop is a good place to spend the nights while doing things in the area. It is well kept and the owners are very helpful. The Wi-Fi worked well at our site. PA rates were honored for the two nights we were there. There are very few shaded sites. Our pull-thru site was very easy in and out with plenty of room for vehicle.
Great place to stay, we were allowed to pick our own site and found one we really liked with full hook ups. Verizon air card worked well. AT&T phone was iffy. Site was well kept. Unfortunately, our Border Collie barked at a person that did not like dogs when we were checking in and we were sternly warned against a dog barking. She was in the truck and the person walked up to the truck to quickly. We would stay there again.
Very Basic Park. The owners were very helpful. Sites clean with table and fire pit. Good place to base to see the local sites. We were a little apprehensive driving in because it appeared to be trashy at first glance. You need cash. Credit Cards are not accepted. The Trolley stops at the entrance and with the parking cost and finding a place to park in the area that is the best way to get around.
It is a beautiful campground with lots to do for the kids. It is well maintained and the facilities are clean. Our personal feelings are; it is not dog friendly. You cannot walk your dog anywhere on the grounds except the Dog Walk, which is the camp dump ground. You are required to drive your dog to the dog area. It is up a road that I would not recommend anyone try in other than a pick up. A low ground clearance vehicle will have problems, we ended up taking our dog to a dog SPA for a few days and when she was with us I took her off the Campground property to do her business. She would not go at the campsite. It is a real inconvenience. I did notice that there were very few dogs in the campground; I saw three when riding through the park. I would not recommend this campground to anyone with a dog. I would stay there again if we did not have a small dog.
Great place except for not having full hook ups. They do provide a pumping service for the sites that do not have FHU. Owners are great and very helpful. If you like the woods this place is great. The sites are large and we had a great view out the back windows into the woods. Their occupancy seems to be primarily seasonal campers, however, we were there during the week and place was nearly empty of people. WIFI is at the office area. We did not use the pool but it is a nice large one. They have a game room for the kids.
The owners are as accommodating as anyone you will find. There are no showers or public facilities. There is some highway noise during the day but dies off at night. The local folks told us it is the better of the two in the area. The owners are converting it from a trailer park to an RV park. There are only a few house trailers remaining. There was no picnic table or fire pit. There are no activities for the kids. It was a good place for us to base for our activities in the York area. If we return to that area we will stay there again.
This campground is in a beautiful setting. The full hooks up sites are very narrow but plenty long and easy to get in & out. Our slide was two feet from our neighbor and our awning over the next site. The sewer pipe near us is broken and the smell is sometimes quite strong. Our picnic table is placed over a large concrete access cover that is about a foot tall making it impossible to use it as there is no place to put your feet. There is grease on the table that looks to have been there for quite some time and a hole burned through it. There are no fires allowed at the FHU sites. The pool was only open for a few hours on Sunday, the rest of the week it was closed. The staff is not friendly and other guest made the same comment, so don’t think it was just us. We stayed there a week and used it as a base for our activities in the area. We were gone several hours during the days. It is a good overnight stopping place. There are some great camping spots in the woods if you do not need a full hook up. Some of them have W & E. It’s a good place to bike ride for exercise. The grass in the dog walk area is quite long which makes it hard to clean up. With all the rain this year I can understand not getting it mowed. The grass in the sites is in good shape and is kept mowed.
This was a great place to spend the afternoon and night. Check out was at noon so next day was comfortable. Site was large. It looked like they were utilizing every other site. Although we do not have kids there were a lot of activities for them. Good dog walk facility with bags and waste container. I would definitely stay there again
Great, well kept park. The laundry room is the best we have seen in our travels. Lots of jet noise. There are shaded sites available but we did not get one. Water pressure is very low. For us it was a little expensive because we were there to visit our son who is in the Navy and spend most of the days and evenings out of the park. Lots of jet noise.
Campground does not have sewer connections. They send a tank around to pump out the RV tank once a week. (Maybe two if you complain) We were lead to believe that they had full hook-up sites. (This site also indicated sewer) We think they believe that the pump service makes it a FHU. We were in a deluxe site. Big rig beware there are very few sites that will handle you. We could not park the truck without being in the road at our site parking across the site. It is considered a pull through but we could not negotiate the turn because of trees. Had to back into site behind us to get out. The picnic table is in concrete and cannot be moved out of the sun, however there may be some tree shade at certain times of the day. We had to pay extra for guest (grandkids) and the shower was a pay shower. I would not stay there again. That said, if you have kids and do not need better sewer service I would recommend this campground. There are lots of activities for kids to do. Also, the campground has beautiful grounds, some great sites for pop up units. There is some dust from the roads but not to bad.
Site was good size with trees on one side. (Pull through sites is not by trees). Sites are not level. Dump station is hard to get to-you need to back into it and there is no place to line up. Roads are very dusty with a lot of golf-cart traffic. Owners are very accommodating and service oriented. There are weekend-planned activities. Good place for kids.
People did not seem to be the friendly type. The water valve had to be dug out of the dirt to connect hose. There was a constant drumming sound we could here inside our trailer coming from the Security trailer most of the time we were there, even into the late night. If you stay there get some distance from security trailer. Sites are large in comparison to other RV parks we have been in. River beach is very shallow for a long way out, great for the kids to play in. Trash dumpster was a good distance from site and only one trash barrel located near the center of the camping area. Sited are sand and rock. We would return but only at a selected site.
