Nice remote camping. All gravel and not all level but good setting centered between many attractions. Close camping but not too bad by todays standards of parking lot campgrounds with RV's 20 feet apart. Shady country setting. Good access road. Good strong WIFI. Friendly staff.
Fenced, gravel parking lot style camping stuffed between two motels and a restaurant. Tight gravel spaces with 20 feet between campers. No cable, modem, or phone at campsites. No WIFI. Dennys within walking distance. Close to interstate and somewhat noisy. Walmart five miles way would be a much better overnight stop. Several RV's where staying there when we passed soon after daylight.
Gravel parking lot style camping. 40-50 feet between spaces. Wide roads for easy manuvering with big rigs. Good, strong WIFI. Weekend meal served out back with live C&W entertainment. Pretty good too. Pool in a green house was too hot enjoy. Kids won't know the difference though. Dusty but far enough from highway to be quiet. Store nice, well stocked, and friendly staff. No sewage connections at sites. Gray water leaked each night from most RV's
Shade trees and green grass are a rare find in this area. Overall not very pleased with the campground in general though. No sign at the main entrance and had to pull in a second road. This required a U-turn and unhooking my toad In front of the store. Unsympathetic staff states, "yeah, everybody does that, next time pull in the other road". Bad first impression! Store was new looking and clean inside. The whole area is not much bigger than a football field. Tight would be an understatement. Dusty, gravel roads with pull throughs 25 feet and less apart. Yes, I measured it! NOT big rig friendly and had a hard time getting into one of the larger spaces. WIFI had poor to no signal throughout the camping sites. Unable to get mail after 24 hours of trying. Tent campers had nice grass areas, equally tight but shady. Camping area surrounded on three sides by 8-10 foot high gravel and rock levy and fourth side looks toward a junky, heavy equipment parking area and the highway beyond. A short walk outside the campground and along the Colorado river is beautiful with red rock bluffs surrounding the area. None of the many other campgrounds in the area where full so next time I'll stay elsewhere. To many nicer places available. Thanks.
Beautiful park and great fishing lake. One of top rated Crappie lakes in the south. Park is very large and boat ramp is more than two miles from camping area. This park was large enough to have all campsites with water frontage but for some reason they didn't. Three out of 65 campsites on the water and even those are three hundred feet or more away. For those that take their boat in and out of the water, extra parking at campsites is not available. Waters edge is overgrown with brush and trees. If your just camping its a great place but just not fisherman friendly. Boat and Canoe rentals are a nice feature.
