This place is mostly live-ins. They have 6 sites that are pull through for overnighters. The sites were muddy, extremely narrow, tricky to drive through and not recommended for big rigs. We were told bigger rigs than ours made it, and that is probably true. It is Passport America, Escapees and that brings the price down to $20, $15 more than it is worth. Large shady trees. Office personnel who were not in the office, as it is self-serve and you are definitely putting them out if you need help. We were asked if we had missed the self-service sign. As it turned out we needed mobile service, never could find the same guy again, but a live-in neighbor was kind enough to give us a phone book list of who might help. There are not many good parks right in this area, but I would recommend planning ahead and staying away from here. We will not return.
We were pleased to have a friendly welcome to a very well maintained park. There is someone who does check and clean the site before and after you leave. Amazing. We were glad to see the roads and sites paved. Each site is divided by hedges. The park is the only place to stay on the road - as someone else mentioned, it is a true oasis. Close to the ocean along with restaurants and whatever else you might enjoy. We would stay here again.
This is a nice park with helpful office staff. The sites are pull thru and full hookup. The sites are gravel and long. The park is far enough from 101 to be quiet with no road noise. We would stay here again.
This park deserves a 10 just for the effort put into making your stay a good one. They have what you need, but they also keep it nice, are friendly, helpful and interested in their customers. This is a small park, in a small town, with easy access to the ocean, nice restaurants, beautiful views and the park is off the main drag by one block. We would definitely come back here.
This is a nice park with pull thrus, full hookup, cable, wifi. It is just over priced. The sites are gravel, the place needs a bit of spit and polish to warrant the prices. The walkway to the ocean which is stated to be easy is not easy. You are paying for proximity to the ocean and a river view site.
The best thing about this park is the river - it is lovely to sit in chairs and enjoy the view. Not much else to recommend it. The office staff was rude and one of the reasons we left early. The sites were suffering from the rain. If you go here short on groceries or looking for a meal outside the rv, forget it. No restaurants, the grocery is a milk and bread place only. The surrounding area is beautiful, but stay down the road on the other side of the bridge - it has to be better. It is easier to put up with shortcomings when the office treats you fair and courteously.
This is a lovely park with grass, trees and concrete pads with patios. The park is an easy on and easy off place. It is an oasis if you have been away from restaurants and shopping for a while! Fun place to explore. We would return to this park
We stayed here on a night when the race track was not in use, that might change our rating. We had a pull through, full hookup. The sites were very close, but the park was almost empty, so they did not put us right next to each other. This is an easy access to the highway place. We stayed one night and although it was a parking lot with hookups, it was a decent place for overnight.
There is little to find fault with at this KOA. Maintenance was busy while we were there. They were actually leveling sites! We saw them raking leaves and the park looked great. They have different areas for people who wish to use a satellite dish, but most of the park is huge trees. They offer cable and wifi, so we took that. We also took the San Francisco Tour from the park and had a wonderful time. They have a petting zoo and although the kids must love this, at times the wind does blow the wrong way.
This park is well located and has friendly office personnel. The sites are gravel. There are trees. This is a good, safe place to park with few amenities. We were fortunate to get a full hookup, not all sites have sewer. Everything worked just fine and although this is not a "destination" park for us, it is certainly a nice park for several nights. We would stay here again.
This park can be hard to rate - they have levels of RV sites. If you get the nicer sites, you are probably happy. Ours was gravel and a pull through. No real complaints with the site except they do have their share of live-ins in very old RVs. The office staff is very friendly. Our complaints revolved around the rules at the park. They had a list as they all do. No one ever checked anything in the park while we were there - a week. Rules were broken constantly - but no one from the staff ever patrols. We were told it would be impossible for them to patrol and see if people were obeying rules like parking their extra vehicle and boat in another RV site - ours. Four days we had their truck parked over into our site and they had a van with a boat. The van was pulled up against the side of our RV and satellite dish. This should break some kind of rule as well as being rude. Three vehicles and a boat were not allowed in one site. They had a short trailer and plenty of room, but they wanted to use their own site for fun. When no one asked us what in the world we were doing with all this parked in our site, we figured we had to mention it to the offenders. They really didn't care and since the rules were broken all over the park, we just shut up and waited it out. Yes, we could have pushed it, but when there are rules published, why doesn't anyone enforce them? We were unhappy, but they didn't care. We won't be back. Nice laundry and store, restaurant and pub. Just remember, you won't be protected in your site by the staff.
This is one of those Parks that is well run and has a lot to offer. Immaculate rest rooms and 2 great laundries, manicured RV sites - very close to the waterfront. Mostly pull thrus, paved roads and pads, landscaping between sites with wood chips around the bushes etc. We are here now and simply enjoying the area and the Park. It is situated so close to so many tourist activities, you can be busy every minute. There is a shuttle that comes to the Park that takes you to Newport. Being at the Marina has a lot of charm. There are two rv parks here - one is the older park, called the Annex. The Park we are staying in is the new Park.
The office staff was cordial and helpful. The sites are all large, but the pull thrus are extra long. If you want a back in site, that is where the lovely trees are. We were more interested in reliable internet via satellite, so we stayed in the pull thru area. Plenty of grass and this year, plenty of rain. The tent area is separate from the rv section, even have their own road. The wifi was not reliable, but we had our own. Rebooting the wifi is fine, if someone is in the office, but after hours, who is going to reboot? For us, we were happy to be there and will go back.
We asked about rules and regulations when we checked in and were told there were none. This perhaps is the problem. No site map, just told to find the number out there and park. Dogs run free everywhere. Fireworks day and night, usually until midnight. Tents are one thing, tarps hung up on overturned picnic tables is something else again. Although there is a sign beyond this area for paid guests, the beach drew anyone with a vehicle to surf or fireworks. Sites are uneven and the road is full of potholes. This is one of those parks that could be great with some care and attention - also security would be nice.
The Wifi is actually high speed internet DSL. A wonderful small park. Paved pads, healthy grass and small trees. Pull thrus and backups, special lane for extra tow or towed vehicle. The staff is friendly and helpful. The laundry and restrooms are excellent. The park is located very well for restaurants and shopping. We stayed a week and I could find nothing to grumble about only praise for a well thought out and pleasant park. We would come back and stay here again - a very pleasant experience.
Rundown, barely maintained and wish we had never stopped. We belong to Coast to Coast and used that membership to stay here. No mowing had been done anywhere and the mud was awful. The electric post was falling apart and the water faucet and post were covered with moss and algae.
This park is 4 miles off the highway on a paved and well maintained road. The park is surrounded by hills and mountains in the distance. The peaceful atmosphere with well tended grass between gravel sites is welcome. Hookups are easy, sites are level and pull throughs, the hosts are wonderfully kind and helpful - what more could you want? The Internet is very close to happening. They offer Passport America. Well worth the short drive off highway 12.
This is a nice, clean and friendly park. Office staff is friendly and helpful. The sites are pull thru and the laundry is small but clean and attractive. Close to town, but a country atmosphere. The park is about 3 years old and the power and water are excellent. We would stay here again.
This is a small park but it has long sites available if you need them. The office staff is cordial, helpful and very friendly. This is a stopover place for most people, but it is a nice, clean place with wifi. We would stop here again.
Owner admits that the electrical system is antiquated. We had no power in our site, used a cord to the next site and that power was weak. Sites are good size, office is pleasant and helpful. Nice views and burros to watch. If only they had good power!
This park has a friendly staff in the office when the extremely young staff is not behind the counter. The young girls lack knowledge, courtesy and good manners. This park is good for one or two nights and then move on. There are many here who have been coming for years - that is the second biggest problem here. Too many full timer sites and too many live-ins that look like live-ins. Sites are allowed boats, extra vehicles, sheds, utility trailers. The park is clean, landscaped and now in the process of expanding. The worst problem there is the wind. They charge you more to be on the bluff and won't allow you a site there unless you stay 3 months. Of course that turns out not to be true, but what is true is that the bluff is windblown to the point of being dangerous. We spent 3 months due to other obligations in the area and never once sat outside or even stood outside to enjoy the view. Our slide awnings are almost ruined, saved only by tying them down. Our slides pushed in from the strong winds and our satellite dish was tied to the hitch and the truck. Crazy way to spend a winter in the South. We asked to trade our site and were told no sites available. The least they can do is warn newcomers of the wind on that high bluff. We actually paid a premium to be blown around and have our rv damaged. That time of the year it is almost impossible to get more than a day at a time in the local parks, we looked and ended up staying there. Never again. They held our deposit until the last day!
This is the worst park we have ever stayed in over many years of rving. The sites were extremely narrow and difficult to enter. Tree limbs hung down into sites, power boxes hanging loose, notes saying sewer does not work. No maintenance of weeds and bushes etc. RV sites right next to auto repair shop. The staff work in gas station convenience store adjoining the park. They know little or nothing about the rv park. We saw most people go back to the store for their money back and leave. When we arrived it was empty and we were able to choose the only site with acceptable power and after many attempts we were able to squeeze in the site. One plus for the Park is that the wifi worked very well. Laundry room and restrooms were grossly unacceptable. We did not feel secure and one of us always stayed with the rv. We would never stay here again and will always warn others to stay away. We paid a lower fee as they welcomed Coast to Coast members as a Good Neighbor Park. We thought we were overcharged.
The sites are pull through and level. Wifi was slow, but we were a long ways from the office and we were just glad it worked. The staff is friendly and helpful although when we were there staff was only in office 2 hours in the am and 3 hours in the pm. The views are beautiful and the location is only one mile from Moab and very close to the Arches National Park. We would stay here again.
This park is clean and well maintained. Staff is helpful and pleasant. There is a separate area for a mobile home park, but the rvs are separate. Power is excellent many sites are long enough that you do not have to unhitch for an overnighter. This is a convenient location and we felt safe here.
