This is a decent campground to stay at and very close to many activities in Shipshewana. The park roads and sites are not very well defined and some are a little tight for big rigs. Free Wi-Fi is nice but there is a lack of park oversight. Some camper's dogs run lose and many pet owners don't clean up after them. Placement of some site utilities are a little inconvenient. There are no bath houses so you must be self-contained. After all is said, the rental is a little less than the other parks in the area which make it a good choice for an overnight or a short stay.
We stayed here because there were no sites available in Sault Ste. Marie. The park was okay. The price was very reasonable but some of the sites are too small for big rigs. Wi-Fi had a very strong signal. A local stray dog seems to roam the park at-will, creating problems for campers with pets.
Very nice park with a million dollar view. It is a little tight getting into some sites but the view is worth it. The Wi-Fi was a little too weak to use at our site. The staff has always been very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. This is one of our favorite campgrounds in the UP.
Very nice little park. It is a little hard to turn into from the east and the access roads are a little tight for big rigs. The sites are nice and spacious. We got an FMCA discount so the rate was okay. The owner was very nice and accommodating. There were also a few mobile homes here but they presented no problems. Would stay here again.
We had a reservation for two nights. When we arrived they sent us down dirt access roads with trees and brush growing into the roadway. It was impossible to manuever our 40' MH into our assigned site so we went back to the office. On our way out we had to drive through dirt trails with trees protruding into the road as evidenced by a scratch in our clear coat finish. We asked for and were given a site on the front lawn (1 of 7 sites) more suitable for a large RV. When we asked why they didn't offer the more suitable site in the first place, their response was that they didn't know what size rig we had even though they had that information from our reservation and our RV was clearly visible in the drive. They offered no apology for the damage to our MH. This is an older campground more suitable for tents and small RVs. The price was a little steep for a facility that clearly needs to be updated before they advertise as having "perfect sites for large rigs."
After making a reservation at this campground, we arrived to find our assigned site had not been vacated yet. There were no other full-hookup sites available and the previous occupants were not in the campground. We were told we would to take another site without sewer and cable or one without sewer and water because we "had to move" out of the drive. Owners offered no apologies and we took another site for one night. This park seems to have LOTS of rules for a somewhat primitive campground. Access roads are a little tight for a big rig, and can be congested if more than one RV is coming or going at a time.
