There was no one at the registration center so we had to self-check in. But the sites were large and flat with plenty of room between sites. Our site overlooked the lake. Each site had a pleasant covered picnic table and its own trash can. There were tame deer that came right up to us to be petted. Camping here is an excellent value for the cost. Our biggest complaint was a long walk to the restrooms.
We have camped here two years in a row. The sites are larger and much shadier and more scenic than most RV parks. The sites are not level and there are many different elevations, but our elevation gave us a view of the lake even though we were three sites away. Some maintenance work is needed: the door to the ladies's room was in bad shape, the shower curtain needed to be replaced, and the electrical box on our site was askew. Many bugs on the floor indicated that the restroom area had not been swept in a while. But on the whole we enjoyed our stay.
The sites were small and sandy but easy to get in to. The bathrooms and showers were old but clean. The managers were very pleasant and helpful. Improvements were being made; while we were there flowers were being planted in the front area. The only real problems we had were due to the location in the canyon: our cell phone and internet air card did not work (but the OnStar phone did.) We were given several free trials for the campground's new internet service and that worked very well.
This is a very pleasant, open campground with exceptionally long sites. Although there are no shady sites, there are a number of small trees, recently planted, that will eventually provide shade, and there are wide grassy areas between the gravel pads. The park is near the interstate exit but is set well back from the interstate and there are lots of trees in between, making it very quiet. The only reason I did not give this park a 10 was that there was some junk in the back of the park that should either be tidied up, removed, or screened. Also, there are no services at this exit.
This park is in a pleasant setting. The sites do not have picnic tables or fire pits, but there is an area near the front of the park that has a large fire pit, grills, and picnic tables. The staff was very friendly. We did not give this park a 10 because there were no showers or laundry. However, these amenities are under construction and should soon be available.
