We have been full-timing for the last couple of years. Last summer we decided to try seasonal camping. We made a list of everything we wanted and Shenango fit the bill. This is a wonderful campground that is well run. It is beautifully kept with great owners. There are lots of activities throughout the summer and if something costs extra the price is extremely reasonable, most of the activities are free. There is also a large pool area and 3 different playground areas. If you like canoeing you can put in up the river and get out at the campground! By the way... we loved it so much that we will be seasonal again this year!!
Wow, what a disappointment! The website makes this place look great. As previous poster said, roads are narrow (10'), the sites are grass and muddy, the fire pits are completely sunken-in holes. It took three tries for the office to get us in a size that fit a 40' coach. The internet costs $3 a day: need I continue? Oh, they charge 100% up front, non-refundable: I now know why. I would stay at a truck stop before using this park again.
I was extremely disappointed with this campground. When we first parked we were in a site that obviously did not get a lot of use considering the spiderwebs I had to connect through. The cable did not work well and there is only 14 channels. The next day we explored where we found a little cafe that serves very greasy food that you have to cross a road to get to. The boat rentals are also across a busy road. The dumping station is right in front of the playground and the pool area was not well taken care of including what looked like vomit on the side of one of the pools although no one there seemed concerned with it at all. Everyone we encountered that worked there was rude and didn't seem to want to actually work or be helpful. I would not return to this campground. After the one night we found a new campground to move to.
The campground was nice. It had a wonderful view of the arch. The staff was friendly. However, when we checked in we asked if they had fireworks on New Year's Eve at the arch and we were told that they did. They did not. So.. we sat up with our children to watch the fireworks and were very disappointed when all we could see was a few fireworks between the buildings on the other side of town.
Adequate campground. It is open year round. Because it is winter the water was turned off at the sites but the owner had an area at the front of the campground where you could fill up your water. The owner was very friendly.
This is the second time we have stayed at this park. If you ask about satellite the people making reservations know which sites you will be able to get satellite in. The first time we stayed in a pull through site that was mostly out in the open but this time we have a back-in site that has a wooded feeling to it. They also have strong Wi-Fi signal throughout the park. Quiet park that is still close to the city.
Nice, peaceful park. You can see the traffic from the freeway, but it doesn't make too much noise. The only issue with this park is the dirt road you have to go over to get into the park. It was very windy when we were there and we wished we had a site facing a different direction. We stayed in the new area that as water and sewer, and it was very nicely done.
This is a wonderful park. Big, paved sites. We had a wonderful view of the pond in the middle. Nice roads for riding bikes. If all casinos have RV parks like this, we will have to stay at more of them. They have a company that brings propane in at your site on Mondays and they also have a gas station and RV and car wash on site.
We were a little concerned that there was only one review and it was SO wonderful. The only reason that I gave this a 7 is because it is truly camping. You cannot get cell phone coverage here or any TV on antennae. Satellite is spotty. However it is a beautiful site right on the river. They have canoe trips available. We took the 2 1/2 hour trip and it was a lot of fun. The owners are on site and very helpful. They will pump you out at your site for $20 or you can drive to the dump.
Overpriced but in line with area parks. This is a nice looking park, nice streets. The sites are close together but they have adequate room. It is a little hard to park tow car on site. Our next door neighbor had their car on our site.
The roads could use a little help, and this really is just a glorified parking lot. It was a good place to go out from to see San Diego, but I would not choose to stay here long term. Some of the long term units were very old and run down looking, and there was also a large amount of duck poo all around the sites. There are many ducks that will sleep under your rig. The playground was also run down.
Although it was raining for part of our visit this was a beautiful park among beautiful trees. We were in a pull through site that looked like it was not under trees but our satellite could not pick up a signal. They do have good cable though. The children's playground was very nice and the staff was very friendly.
This is a wonderful park with very helpful employees. They were able to give us directions to propane and also a local hospital. We stayed here while it was snowing and it was nice to be within 30 miles of towns without snow as well as towns with skiing! :) Perfect location!
This is a beautiful and quiet campground. We stayed for the months of November and December, because it is close to family for the holidays. This park is close to Georgia Southern University and also has a very nice Japanese restaurant within walking distance. Park owners are extremely nice and on site. We will definitely be staying here again.
This was a beautiful and quiet park. The roads getting in are a little tight and we had to remove our CB antenna to keep it from hitting their Christmas lights. The large playground is wonderful for small children and the Animal Park is within walking distance of your site. We will stay here again.
This park is very clean but the website is misleading. They state that there is a hot tub, but they no longer have one. They also state that they sell discount tickets to area attractions, but they do not. Also, the first day when we took our RV out to go to Sea World we came back to find our hose had been stolen. The management seemed unconcerned by the theft, when I questioned if someone from maintenance might have picked it up thinking we had checked out. We will not stay here again.
