Typical KOA, right along the freeway, very noisy, however, they did provide ear plugs!!! Water was not on yet, and they failed to mention that when we called ahead. Basically, a gravel parking lot with hook-ups. OK for a one-nighter with ear plugs in.
Very nice COE campground. Quiet when we were there with only a few other units. Had 50 amp elec and water hook-up. Used dump station upon leaving. Lake is low, but will rise again eventually. Had no Verizon coverage for our hot spot, but a bar or two for AT&T cell. Would definitely stay here again!!
This National Forest Park is very old, and in need of repairs to the interior roads. Sites are mostly all shaded, nice, mature trees. Several old, dilapidated, junky sheds next to the camp host sites, with mounds of junk piled behind, next to, and around them. Host trailer appears to have been here for years (moss-covered, dirty), and their site is a mess. Looks a lot like Slab City.
Old KOA campground in need of repair. Dead trees, dead grass, and paving gone to dirt. Campground abuts the interstate, so is very noisy, but easy to get to. Many residents appear to be living permanently on the premises, and their sites are very junky, for the most part. Staff was nice, very accommodating. I feel it is very overpriced for the condition, and would look elsewhere next time.
The last 1/4 mile of city road before the park is terrible!! Numerous DEEP potholes and broken pavement....be careful. Interior roads are not any better, they haven't been paved in many years. Tight turns throughout, trees need trimming, tuff for big rigs, but do-able if you are careful. Once in your site, it's a nice place to camp. We stayed 7 days, and the bathrooms were only cleaned ONCE!!! Very disgusting. There was feces on the toilet seats, vomit on the floors. ( when I mentioned it to the ranger, he just said they are short-handed, and couldn't look me in the eye.) The Host, Gene, was very friendly and helpful. He got things done.
Very unkempt campground. Multiple sites are on one 15 amp circuit!! Kept tripping the breaker when trying to use small electric heater. When we complained to the manager, he simply turned and walked away!! Would stay away from this place at all costs. Buildings are dilapidated; restrooms not nice at all.
This is a nice, quiet campground with private, roomy sites with a beautiful view of canyon. All sites are wooded. There are no amenities, but that's what we like as we are self-contained. Winter rate was in effect ( $5 instead of $10 ), plus we have the senior pass so it was only $2.50!!!
