A very nice place in southern CT, alot of seasonals and alot of transient sites mixed together with shaded and deep wooded sites, all roads were paved. There were two very nice tennis courts, a basketball court, small wiffle ball field and an older pool. The wash rooms were on the older side and had seen better days but they were cleaned every day. The club house had a collection of older arcade games PAC MAN and Frogger as well as a jube box with a great mix of older songs. Just watch out for the puppy who likes to eat your ping pong balls!! The adult recreation hall was immaculate and air conditioned. The store had all the essentials for the kids and adults. They had a DJ on saturday night and plenty of things to do for the kids. It was a very relaxing weekend and alot of fun!
If you do not mind dry camping this place is great, all roads are paved and sites have a paved drive, fire ring and large table, along with about 6,000+ sf of space per site. if you go with a small group and reserve three to four sites you can have a very large area for the kids. There are numerous marked walking trails and the beach can be walked to or you can drive or ride a bike. Bathrooms are cleaned every day with free hot showers, but can get buggy due to the lights, there is a dishwashing station at every bathroom. We camped here on the 4th of July and we were very surprised at how quiet it was for a holiday weekend, you could hear a pin drop at 9:30 pm every night. We camp here in a travel trailer as much as possible every year.
This campground was very wide open with a few trees, the bathrooms are older, but they are kept clean for the most part. The gravel roads were rocky, my kids knees were rather scuffed from just walking around. The main issue I had was this place was very wet, the 100's block was a swamp, we could not use our site due to the thick mud, the sites all around us were the same, there were several that were worse. My recomendation would be to get a site with Cable TV, those are all in the center of the park and not as swampy. We camped here in a travel trailer in May 2005
