Located very close to the ferry and bus to get to San Francisco. Staff were really helpful with A LOT of information on the area. Park was clean but spaces were close. Utilities worked well but we are used to having long hoses. There is a huge area just outside the park for animals. We took a drive into town and saw our first redwood grove: cool. We would stay here again for sure.
There are only two games in town. This is the best of them. True the park is run down, but for $10 with full hookups what do you expect? We were here for several nights and never had problems with the area. Even walked down the road with no problems. We got a good satellite reception but spotty Verizon reception. Would stay here again for overnight. Manager was nice but abrupt and to the point.
Iowa State Park run by county. Was not kept up. Most sites were reservation only sites. Host said we could park anywhere since he had no reservations. Area was hit with bad hail storm so trees were mostly bare. Park had old dark ugly feel to it. Water is available to fill tank. Dump station was easy to get to. Watch out for mice!!! We spent 1 night and got 7 mice! Probably wouldn't stay here again.
As all reviews said-great place to stay after long day on the road. The grass was mowed and the sites were very clean. We didn't see the owners either. Had 50 amp sites with water and sewer. Would stay again if going this way.
Had to give campground a low score due to the problems we had checking in. The directions we were given were to a back gate with an unused office and a not working intercom system. After waiting several minutes at the intercom to get in the gate we called on our cell phone to the office. The office said they would send someone down to open the gate. A fellow came down and said to back up and drive around gate. We had to unhook the toad to back up. The gentleman then left without giving us directions to the office. This is a very big resort!!! We made it to the club house and called on the cell phone again to get directions to the office to check in. We were told there was a map on the wall that we could look at to get to the office. We finally made it to the office to check in. Somehow our reservation got mixed up-blamed on Coast to Coast-but they got us a site for 1 night. The office people are used to checking in guests that are staying in the condos, not campground people. The site we were given was eight inches off level to the driver's side and five inches off level to the rear. We got as level as possible and got settled in. Cable TV, water, electric and sewer were very well placed in site and worked well. Low water pressure, so OK without regulator. We went to use the pool area later in the evening and got towels from office and walked down the stairs only to find out that you need a room key to get into the area. Back upstairs to get dummy key to get in. Hot tub and pool area were very nice and clean. Lifeguard was able to convince people with children in hot tub that it was against the posted rules. We will probably stay here again but will use the main resort entrance and bring more blocks to level next time.
Rate reflects C-C membership price. Was truly a resort with a lot of amenities. We were their too early for a lot of activities and not much was open but can see that when it is in full operation it is a first class resort. There was the cheapest gas in the area available and even a shop that does oil changes on grounds. Sites were very far apart and open, surrounded by grass and a couple of small trees. Views in area are great!! you park your rig and your vehicle on a double sized level concrete pad. All the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Would for sure stay here again!!!
Campground was like a dirt lot with a few weedy sites near the fence and road. Blanca is a very small town. Was a quiet park with a few residence type campers. Price reflects PA discount and you got what you paid for!!! Probably wouldn't stay here again unless we were tired of driving. Staff in office were very nice. Some dogs running loose.
Park was not "officially" open at the beginning of May. Meant showers and laundry were not open. Price reflects above. Was nice open park with recently leveled sites. Only a few 50 amp sites open. Few trash cans in park were full and trash was spilled by critters during the night. After telling the hotel receptionist the spilled trash was picked up but all trash cans were still full. Didn't use the water park($), cable worked well, wireless didn't work at all but we were parked as far away as possible from the hotel. Was quiet but would try the campground just up the hill-more shade trees. Would stay here in a pinch.
