We stayed here because of favorable reviews, but make no mistake. This place is a DUMP. A very depressing dump. All dirt and gravel, not an ounce of grass or landscaping. A lot of working people live here, and I feel sorry that the owner can't make this place a little nicer. Resort -- HA!

The roads are in bad shape. The Wi-Fi is not good: half the time I couldn't get on and it was slow. I don't see why they advertise Wi-Fi. Some of the sites are soft, so we moved to another site.

We come to Vernon quite often to visit friends, and always stay here. The park has come a LONG way since when we first started coming. The current owners have done a lot to improve the services. Our only beef now, is the interior roads are quite bumpy.

This is a really pretty park We stayed in Green's Loop which is on the water. We would not come back here in the summer because it is way too hot and humid. We thought there'd be a breeze, being near the water, but no such luck. The mosquitoes are just awful. We wonder if they even spray! So we would imagine a Spring or Fall visit would be better. We were dismayed by the MESS at the picnic area/beach. It was pretty disgusting. We saw dirty diapers wadded up and stuck in the bushes. There was a pile of charcoal a foot high around every grill. People just dump it out on the ground. There's lots of garbage around the tables. How could such a nice park have such a filthy picnic area? All in all, though, it's a good place -- just not in summer.

This is a beautifully maintained park. We just happened to luck out and get the last space available; otherwise, I understand this place is usually full in the winter months. They have sites of varying sizes; you pay more for wider, more spacious sites, but ours overlooked a canal in the back, and I didn't feel claustrophobic about the neighbors. We can only stay a week due to incoming reservations, but I wouldn't mind at all spending multiple weeks or months here.

We made reservations for this park based on the good ratings on this site. What a disappointment! The site assigned to us was impossible to get our 35 foot 5th wheel into. It was such a tight turn, the man across the street had to remove his picnic table and lawn ornaments (and move his truck), and we still couldn't get in. There was also a low tree limb that knocked our antenna over. After 1/2 hour of trying we gave up, and since there were no other sites available, we had to get a refund and leave. I wasn't all that impressed with the looks of the place anyway, so I'm glad we left.

This place is fabulous! There is a whole line of huge campsites with E & W (50 amp!) and a whole series of "piers" sticking out into the lake where any size rig could fit. You're surrounded on 3 sides by water. No hookups on the piers, but the fee there is only $3.00 a night! It's quiet and beautiful. The town of Pratt is very pleasant, with a vibrant downtown, so this is a place we wouldn't hesitate to return to.

What a nice little park! You're driving through some pretty boring flat farmland, and all of a sudden here's a lake! The sites are very nice. There are 4 separate loops with electric and water, and our site (A loop) had 50 amps. Not sure about the others. Plenty of tent sites as well. It's a little oasis in the middle of nowhere!

It is a great park, all the views you can see the lake. Friendly host, and the park is very clean.

We were so disappointed in this park. The minute we drove in, we were dismayed by the almost derelict appearance of the campground. Overgrown with dead, dry weeds. It was a very sad park. Another camper said New Mexico hasn't really done anything to improve things since they took it over from the Corps of Engineers. The view was unimpressive because the lake has been drained practically dry. We were given the $10 rate because the electricity was off all day both days. We couldn't wait to get the heck out of there.
