We stayed here four nights on our way to Nebraska. It is a nice cozy quiet small campground with a very friendly and helpful staff. We did not use the Wi-Fi. The laundry room was clean and everything worked well. Plenty of nice grassy area to walk the dog. Water and electricity worked well. Enjoyed the resident mules and horse. A hair saloon on premises was very convenient. Will definitely stop here again when in the area. Rate reflects Good Sams full hook up.
This park is easily accessible from I-40. Driveway in was short but large ruts. The staff was friendly and informative about the area. The laundry room was adequate except that the two times we used it we found the campground staff was using the facilities as well. The campground is a little run down-we were told if we wanted cable to hook up to the site behind us. We were also told the Wi-Fi was not working that well - we didn't need it so didn't even try. Our main concern was the grounds-there was no good area to walk the dog - the red clay and stones were terrible and we all had to clean off our feet every time we went out because of the goat head stickers. We will not return to this campground. The rate reflects Passport America discount.
Easy in and out off of I-40. Wide and long sites-no problem parking truck next to trailer. Staff very friendly and informative. Hook ups all worked well. Laundry was adequate and reasonable. Large TV in the laundry area. The dog area was adequate except that there was a great deal of broken glass all over the area. We would return to this campground because it is convenient and reasonably priced. Nightly rate reflects weekly rate plus extra $2.00 for 50 amp service.
We arrived on a Friday early April for 5 days. We were advised that the dirt road into the campground was a little rough: huge understatement. The road is terrible: huge ruts and holes. And it is about a mile long. They had tried to use pine needles to hide some of the holes on the road inside the park. That does not work. I noticed on other reviews that it looks like the road has been bad for a few years. Was implied that it was this way only because of some recent bad rains. Sites are not clean: a lot of trash all around the park. There were some very old trashy campers in the park that were not being used and looked like they had not been occupied for decades! We paid our Passport America rate for 3 of the nights but even at 50% off, it was over priced. We were told the site we were assigned would have no problem getting our stationary satellite signal: did not happen. We will never stay here again and will never recommend it.
We checked around at several other campgrounds in the area and picked KOA Branson after spending 2 nights at a less than perfect place. Everything is great here, but what stands out the most is the staff. They are work campers so understand the issues we had as new to the game. Plus they helped us get around the area and gave us great tips on local attractions. We definitely will come back to this campground.
