America's National Parks, " For the enjoyment of all, and the extreme profit of a few". This park was worth about a third of what they were charging. It only had 20 amp electric, the roads and pads are dirt so it was either dusty or muddy, the sewer connections were outdated and leaked and the laundry was ridiculously overpriced as well. This park is not convenient to any attractions in Tetons or Yellowstone. Colter bay would be a better choice for the Tetons and Madison Junction would be better for Yellowstone attractions. On the positive, it did have trees and was easy to get into for a large RV.
The good include, good access for large rv's, fairly convenient location to Boone, shopping, pretty scenery surrounding the park, friendly owners and clean facility. Reasonable rate and free night with week stay, owners let us run our dog off leash in adjacent open area. The bad include, road noise woke us up on weekdays, the water was smelly and brown (could be temporary problem) and lawn mowing was constant. All in all, a good spot and I would stay here again.
The good include, awesome sites with woods in between for privacy, beautiful scenery surrounding lake, very reasonable rate, easy big rig access, clean and pretty. The bad include, the lake water was hot and of questionable quality, too wooded for satellite signal. I would definitely stay here again.
The good include, great location near the interstate, fast wifi, cleanest bathrooms I ever saw, (in a campground). I asked the owner for a more private spot and got a pull thru all the way in the rear that was to die for. Very private and felt like I had 1000 open, scenic acres to myself. The bad, gravel sites in rear of property were not level and there were quite a few flies due to the surrounding cow fields. Would definitely stay here again.
The good include, great location for exploring areas around the Blue Ridge Parkway, lots of room for hiking, biking and dog walks right out your door. Weekdays were very quiet, pleasant, and there is a fulltime security guard. The bad include, management will tell you they are big rig friendly but the access is horrible, includes rough gravel roads, steep inclines, narrow passage and hairpin turns. I did not see any larger class A's here, for good reason. The pull thru site I had put my canopy over the gravel road so made for an uncomfortable outdoor area with no privacy when cars going down the road. I also had to wet down my section of the gravel road because the dust was so bad. The beautiful looking lake in the advertising was actually a disgusting alge pit and my neighbor said his kids stank after swimming in it.
This park is a "crampground" and was designed for pop up trailers cause all the good sites will only accommodate very small rigs. Noise from kids and the train that goes by at 4am (except Sunday) is a big concern. All spaces are very tight with no privacy or isolation from road, train, people noise. Otherwise a nice property and clean. I would not stay here again.
