Stayed here overnight on our way to the Grand Canyon. Easy access to the highway and the GPS took us right there. We didn't use the showers, but wife peeked in. She said it looked nice, but there was only one. When we checked in, they couldn't find my reservation. The lady was apologetic and after producing my confirmation e-mail, we were good to go. The rate included a GS discount. Would have rated the park higher, but the roads are in poor condition. It made it dicey for walking the dogs at night without a flashlight. The cable service was limited, but we didn't need much for overnight. The Wi-Fi was weak, but could get e-mail. We would stay here again if in the area.
This park had all we wanted and needed. Nice grassy area for each concrete pad. Their restrooms were clean with plenty of hot water. Cable TV was adequate and the Wi-Fi was excellent. The pizza that the office made and delivered to our site was good. We didn't go to the movie offered ("Hunger Games") . We felt it was not age appropriate for our seven year-old, great nephew. A public access beach is just across the road from the park. If we're ever in the area again, we would definitely stay here again.
The website said the sites had water and electricity, but the water sources were scattered throughout the campground, not at each site. The faucet required constant twisting to keep the water flowing. Kind of a pain when trying to fill up the water tank.
I don't know if previous reviews mentioned the high power lines bordering the property, but I don't think so. The before unmentioned train track only had one or two trains over the six days we were there. Lots of families having a good time. The pull-through site was very level, but the water and electrical was at the very back of the site. We were able to miss the trees and connect to the utilities. The laundry room was small (two washers and two dryers) and not air conditioned. If you're heading to the U.P., Summer Breeze is worth a look.
We stayed in the new section with plenty of room between sites. The new washroom for that section is not complete! The old washroom was not cleaned regularly. The Wi-Fi does not work in the new section. The park does have a beautiful setting and was very quiet while we were there. Although the manager lives on site, he was usually busy "on campus" and not in the office.
Very clean! The grassy areas were well manicured. There is a train track near the back of the property with several trains running during the night. The park was right off the highway, so lots of noise. It was a great place to overnight.
First the pros: Full hook ups, good wi-fi at site, wide sites and easy access off highway. Now the cons: Filthy bathrooms and showers! I could have overlooked the horrible water stains in the showers, but it just masked the dirt. I don't think the bathrooms had been cleaned in a while as dirt was everywhere. There is no full-time attendant, and there is a note stating that due to thefts, they are not stocking the bathrooms with paper products. Makes me worry about my belongings while I'm away. Never saw the attendant, therefore, I never paid anything. It was worth the price.
The park is close to town. The sites with shade are very uneven and just soft grass. I had to re-level the trailer due to sinking stabilizers. Showers were available, but there was no hot water after the first day. Even though it was close to town, probably would not stay here again.
