Beautiful, well maintained state park. Many mature trees and the Blanco River flowing clear and cool make this park a definite place to return. There are many examples of the work of the CCC during the Depression. The hiking trails along the river are as tough or as easy as you want. The RV sites are "back in" graveled, and level. The roads in the park are well maintained.
Go somewhere else. The only positive about this park is the bay view. The roads in the park were more mud than gravel. After being directed to a site, we discovered fire ants around the drain. We requested another site and were directed to another. After about three hours, we were asked to move back to the original site, because of a "clerical error". We told management there we other site available and were told they were booked. Three days later, the empty sites were still empty.
