I agree with the comments made by the May 2012 visitor. In addition I would add that the restrooms and showers are clean, people at reception are helpful, short walk to the casino, shade is available but spotty, satellite access is easy, sites are nicely spaced and level. Water pressure could be better. The casino is smoky, except first thing in the morning.
I agree with the other favorable reviews of this park. It is a great place to relax. A few hiking trails through the hills ranging from easy to moderate to difficult. Horses for rent if that's your game. 1 negative for me is that there is no hot water at the restroom sinks. Showers are fine.
This park would be a 10 if not for the restrooms. They are not dirty but not clean either. Shower head was broken. Need serious workover. Shower is possible though. Park is large with nice sites, good separation, mostly level and shaded. Verizon wireless card works well. Satellite ok depending on trees at the site. Welcomers very pleasant. Enjoyed our stay.
The park is immense, very spread out, sites are well maintained and nicely spaced. Reception very courteous and accommodating. Special area for horse lovers complete with stables. Bathrooms basic but very clean. 14 miles from the interstate. Verizon wireless card works. Satellite ok depending on site location of course. There are two lakes here and boat ramps but I didn't see any sites right on the lake. There is a sign to the beach which we didn't check out.
Beautiful, manicured park with back-in sites arranged in circular patterns. Clean restrooms with individual units each containing toilet, sink and shower. Good Internet with Verizon card. Satellite friendly (mostly). Many shaded sites and all very level. The road in from the main road is narrow with no shoulder through a residential area with a couple of tight turns.
You have to use an underpass to get to the campground and it has an 11’ clearance which is too low for us. Strangely, there is a depressed dirt road right beside the regular road and it provides the additional clearance. This is an old NACO park with no 50A service. We are using 30A but the voltage must be lower than 120 because the A/C is very inefficient, running just better than warm. This park has also crossed the line between sites that are generally available and those that are rented for the season resulting in a very poor selection for those of us just passing through. I’ve never seen such steep inclines in a park before. Road surfaces are rough. Very slow Internet with the Verizon card.
This is a very large, tired, old park. Roads are in poor repair and are hilly. Level sites not in the majority. Reception was very friendly and helpful. There are a couple of pullthrough sites, about 15 full hookup, and just two 50A. I would not feel comfortable with a rig longer than 36' maneuvering into most sites. The pool is large and very nice. But overall the park needs a serious upgrade. I would stay here again if it fit in my travel plans.
This park is easily a 10 if it weren't for the restrooms. They are simply not maintained and show it. They are dark and unclean with broken items that look like they've been that way for quite a while. This is our 3rd COE this month that deserves this comment. (You can still take a shower but it's unpleasant.) The park is beautiful with sites nicely spaced, shaded and having water views. The Verizon wireless card works fine. Satellite access is mostly available.
This is a beautiful park with spacious, mostly shaded sites. Of course shaded sites mean spotty satellite reception. Verizon wireless card works fine. 48 sites but one small bathhouse with two showers each side. No place to hold your soap or shampoo, doors are warped and do not provide privacy. I would give the park a 10 if not for the washrooms and lack of sewer hookup.
Previous comments still apply except for the"clean restrooms" comment. There are 3 nice looking restroom buildings. The first one I went into looked like no one had been in there for months, dead bugs all over the floor, dead leaves, just dirty. The next one has showers and faucets that operate by a sensor so that if it detects movement the water will flow until there is no movement. The problem is that you never know if the sensors will work or not. I mentioned this to the volunteer at the entrance station who told me there is no maintenance contract for the bathrooms. I would give this park a 10 except for the bathrooms and the 10PM curfew. Sites are large, spacious and mostly shaded. No swimmable beaches; shoreline is mostly for boats.
The other June review is spot on. I also gave the park a 10 rating even without shade. Restrooms are exceptional. There are two for women and two for men, each containing shower, toilet and sink. Deep end of the smallish pool is shaded by shrubs after dinner. Great relief in 104 degree temperature. Temperature still at 94 at 10:30 PM. Very clean neat park. Cable TV with only 4 channels is an anomaly. Would definitely stay again.
This is an older park that is pretty much left on its own and could use serious TLC. Sites are parallel pullthroughs and terraced up a moderately steep access road. They are very close; my awning overlapped the next site by about 2 feet. If there was a neighbor we would have been negotiating the space for slides and awnings. I think the sites on the upper level might be more spacious. Shade is sparse. Showers are basic/rustic and could be kept cleaner. Entrance is beside/behind a gas station so be looking for it or you will miss it.
Nice, efficient layout of 3 lanes of parallel pull-through sites. Clean, modern restrooms where each stall contains the toilet, sinks and shower and is lockable. Trains are far enough away where, if you strain, you can hear the whistle. Road noise is negligible. No shade. Free shuttle to the casino or a 5 minute walk. Pleasant stay.
This is a nice park but nowhere does it tell you that you need to pay $10 state park fee to access the Stone Mountain Family Campground so add that to what you will pay. Also the showers have no benches to sit on or accommodation to place items while you are preparing for and taking your shower except to place items on the floor.
Siebert is a very small town and the campground occupies one of the town blocks. Dirt streets to get here and good dirt roads in the campground. Lawn is well kept as is this rural, old time campground. Folks are very friendly and helpful. Sites are adequate. 50A service is padlocked so must cost extra. We used 30A and paid $13.64 for our stay. However, my motorhome neighbor has his slide out, and I can not put out my awning. That would bother me if we were staying more than 1 night. Shade trees are scarce. A very good spot for an overnight especially at the Passport America rate. My Verizon wireless Wi-Fi worked great. Good satellite access.
The park is rundown but the people are friendly, the sites are nicely spaced. Some good shade. The concrete pads are cracked but we had no problem getting leveled. The free Wi-Fi signal looks weak but I didn't actually try it since we have a Verizon wireless card and it works fine. Laundry had 2 washers, 2 dryers with one of each out of order but the price is right for the ones that work. Laundry and showers are in a rundown park model but usable if not enticing. The park is far enough from the interstate where traffic noise is minimal. I would not hesitate to stop here for an overnight.
