I believe this is the oldest State Park in the USA but don't quote me on that. The staff is informative and friendly and we had a terrific back in site near the lavatories. Fire pit was great and firewood available at the gate (fee). We would definitely stay again. Lots of old growth trees, a beautiful lake, excellent roads and access off the highway and we really felt like we were camping in the woods. A true state park experience.
We camp here on a regular basis and since we live 5 minutes away, we consider it our "home" campground. It is the only campground in the Greater Toronto Area so it is generally taken advantage of by people visiting Toronto and the Eastern Suburbs. The other comments about staff only being on site from 9-6 is only correct in late October. From May - Oct the park is staffed 24/7 and offers firewood and ice (fee) and is patrolled throughout the night. Very safe and secure and gated. We love it!
