We had a great time as always - the weather was poor with rain/snow and there was still a bit of snow on the ground. Jason (the manager) was very helpful and friendly. We'll definitely stay there again.
Nice little campground, convenient to I-40 but far enough off the highway that you can rarely hear the traffic. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. Only real complaint is that the spaces are tightly packed - I would've been hard pressed to extend my awning without encroaching into the space next door. I'd stay here again.
We had high hopes for this campground after reading the reviews here. Yes, the campground itself is very nice and relatively peaceful. However, every contact we had with the staff was less than satisfactory. It started when I completed the reservation form per the directions, scanned it and emailed it back per the directions at the top of the form. I received a curt reply that I need to call to make reservations. Upon our arrival, when we were checking in, the woman in the office called our daughter a rugrat which upset her, the man who led us to our site nearly guided me into a tree and then when I circled around to get a better line into our site, the same woman who I had paid 5 minutes before, ran out of the office yelling at me to stop because I needed to pay. The icing on the cake was the employee who showed up in our site as we were hitching up to tell us that they had our site booked and wanted to make sure we were leaving. This despite the fact that it was 1.5 hours before checkout time. It's a beautiful area, but I would not stay at this particular campground again.
Nice park - the managers are very nice and helpful. The only drawback was the layout - you really had to look to make sure you were still on a road and not driving through a camp site. The other problem we had and it was no fault of the campsite were inconsiderate kids on their way to and from the pool using our site as a shortcut.
The campground is nice and shady, the facilities were clean and tidy. There were many activities for the kids which they enjoyed. However, several times a day, we were "entertained" by boats being towed to through the park filled with 10+ drunks blasting their music. We were also unable to get connected to the wi-fi network.
