Excellent recent renovation. Asphalt roads, packed gravel large lots, clean, upgraded docking stations for water-sewer-electric. The current senior manager and her senior parking assistant lack customer friendly people skills. Get through that registration and parking sequence and you'll probably enjoy the stay. Expect daily questioning from senior parking assistant about whether you picked up after your pet today. Every one gets the same question routine daily, pet owner or not. I rated it a 5 based on a lack of management customer friendly people skills. Some RVers arrived to try to register when the park was full. About 5 minutes after meeting the current management., they sped (30 MPH plus) out of the park. Understandable reaction to non-people skilled park management, but unsafe to current park occupants. We stayed here 4 nights. If management changes for the better, we might return here next year.
Outstanding stopover value at 25 dollars/night. Friendly owner. New showers and restrooms. Country grass setting. Sparkling pool. Nice clubhouse. Packed gravel sites. Strong WiFi. Clean parking spots. Some permanent tenants. Interstate is 500-600 yards down from the campground. Most traffic sounds are barely noticeable. Train runs several times a day and a few times at night. Tracks are about 1/2 mile away. Distant train horn is heard sometimes, not an irritant to most folks. We have stayed here four times.
Friendly staff. Off the road quiet. Nice large/long sites in rear of park. Packed gravel somewhat level. I used a full set of plastic blocks to get my rig level. Great grass dog walk area/field behind the sites. Check your power conditions at your station with a surge protector-tester before you plug in your rig. I had reversed polarity (bad news) at one site for 30 amps. CAUTION: This park is under rehab and many sites have exposed six inch re-bar stakes sticking upright where railroad support rail planks have been moved. Don't walk around at night without a flashlight to see where you walk or you could prang your toes on one of these nasty re-bars. I suggest considering other nearby parks.
Top notch pleasant park and management. Newly renovated impeccable showers. Fresh homemade meals available and delivered to your site. See menu available from manager. Very personable Manager. This a very secure park along the I-40 corridor. Security is a top priority with me in RV parks. No transients walking to and from truck stops. We felt relaxed and`secure during our stay here.
Excellent setting, clean good power at sites. Most spots level and paved grassy surroundings. Avoid Biker week (Sturgis) first week in August, thousands of noisy transient bikers cruising through the park, nice lodge and good meals at lodge.
I stayed 5 days at this rustic desert park. Very authentic desert setting. An excellent host: very helpful and friendly. All the facilities are maintained with fully functional appliances. The activities are well planned, hosted, varied and very entertaining. Quiet setting. There are many free-bees. The WI-Fi was good. I will return here. It's a very clean park with constant cleanup daily.
