We love to use State Parks and this one is why we do. Fantastic for young and old, this is 100% in every way. Opened in July 2010, it is all new and is very very clean everywhere. Very steep approach in and out by road.
By far the best KOA I have ever come across except that the Wi-Fi is weak unless one is at the "hot-spot". The washrooms are a "family style". We stayed there overnight, we would have stayed longer if our schedule allowed.
Super clean restroom/shower buildings. They can be used and locked in such a way as to create a family style basin/shower/toilet set up. Super clean grounds and all level crushed stone roads and pitches. Grass was cut and small trees and shrubs dotted the park. Our greeting from two middle aged ladies was great.and we were shown to our site. 10% discount for restaurant at park's entrance. Sweet little doggy agility run. Site hook up points are very well placed and clearly marked so arriving in the dark would be easy. Each one has new steel framed six seat garden table/bench seating. At least 15 ft between each so there is room to extend slide/s. We discovered by accident that some are here for the whole of the season and paying around about $12 per night.
Would have been a 10 but for. Not much enthusiasm in helping you to your site, some sites had been occupied partially by neighbor, a reluctance for park staff to get involved in running their on park, it is left to the 'diplomats' among the campers to organize it all. Sights on sea front are almost 'refugee camp' like packed in, we stayed in the 'back lot', more civilized! Wi-Fi is only good, not excellent. Washrooms are the cleanest I have seen in Canada. We stayed for a week, had booked longer, no issues. Refund when we left ahead of time.
You will be met by 'Indiana Jones,' a great character and very keen for you to be happy. He will show you to your sight in a style of his own choosing! The toilet and showers are 110% clean. The toilets by the river are decorated like a 5 star hotel with piped 'club style' music!!! They excelled in dealing with our request for a quiet area. One should study their www site, it has all the info' one needs except for. We would have given this park a ten but. Wi-Fi in reality, is non existent.
The owners are very keen to please. Over half the park is seasonal. Camping sites are larger is size then most other parks. Pull through are massive. Wi-Fi is good to great. Would have given it a 10 except, garbage was still laying around more the 24 hrs later and one seasonal site was shooting off a BB rifle one evening. I think the owners had gone on vacation and standards had slipped?
Greeted by 'two old boys' who had lost track of our reservation, but fixed us up anyway. Wi-Fi is SUPER STRONG. The place is mainly seasonal. Has a nice fenced off Underos park. Some construction noise from 9 to 5 at one end of park. Office/Shop/Washrooms etc., are at the entrance at the top of the hill, walk or drive it? So only 9/10.
I give it a 3 only for the fact that the staff do make a very good effort to be great about everything. Regarding the place itself. Well, because it is a 'cram them in exercise' I felt the place resembled a "refugee camp." Also when we were here: at around 3 am a young group were roaming around hitting the sides of campers with their hands and feet! Did not complain in the morning, just packed up and left one day early. The place is staffed by mainly under 21's, so what can they achieve when one complains. I have used other KOAs in the USA and they are far, far superior to this one.
Very nice place overall. First hour of Wi-Fi is free, then pay at office for more time! Showers and washroom very clean. But to have a shower one feeds quarters into a meter at 25c per 2 minutes approximately! Overnighting is in designated double pitches with nice shrubs for partitioning. Would have given 10, but the greeting at the gatehouse was very un-friendly!
The owner is very welcoming and so very helpful. The washrooms and showers function but are very old indeed. We had site L5 on the lake by the seasonals, only 20amp. There is no Wi-Fi at L5, but we did not care as we wanted super quiet and that is what we got.
Friendly and efficient. 10/10 for a very pleasant park. Showers are ultra modern and in the office building. Wi-Fi excellent if you take a pitch near the office. The park is right next to the TC and there is a rail-road near by as well. Sweet little under 9s playground at the park as well.
Like the other KOAs in the area, if one wants space around a pitch, then pay the extra. We did and stayed on a pitch in their Canyon Heights section, features a quality patio set and deck and the pitch is twice the width of a typical KOA. However like other KOAs, we only overnight at them simply because it works in terms of using the www to make reservations.
If you are looking for a 5 Star between Nashville and the Panhandle, this is it. We used it for an overnight. They have a great campers services building with it all under one roof: showers, toilets, laundry, TV room with leather style lounge seating along with a fully fitted kitchen area??? Outside is an English Pub style seating area for the family with active kids. The place is run by an RV dealer with all the services one might need. We would use this KOA again without hesitation.
Operator keen to assist. This is an overnighter only. Adjacent to an RV dealer and accessories/repairs available. When busy would be very tight for any RV access. Has a very nice agility park for your dog. Would use again for an overnighter ONLY.
