What a find! We were desperate to find a place and we just happened on this park. The sites are huge! We had a view of the lake and beautiful prairie grass swept out forever on the side of our RV. It was quiet, it was beautiful, and well worth a destination. We were only able to stay one night but we hope to get back there soon. It's a few miles off the interstate, but well worth the drive.
This is a wonderful, welcoming RV park right on the Snake River. It's close to the freeway, but just far enough away that traffic noise never bothered us. Sites are wide and long and flat. There's a huge grassy field where we were told it was ok to run our dog as long as no one else was in the area. We were sorry we only had one night to stay here.
The owners obviously take pride in this RV park. It is clean and well maintained and the sites were so level we hardly needed the jacks. It was a nice, quiet campground. We would definitely stay here again.
We felt very welcome here, the staff was very friendly. The RV park won't get high marks for looks, but the sites were easy to get in and out and even though it is next to a highway, noise was not a factor. This is a good place to camp overnight.
I love an RV park that makes me feel like I'm actually camping, and this one really does. We received a warm greeting when we arrived, and they worked with us so we could camp side-by-side with our friends. Not only could we build campfires, they even provided the wood! It's shady, quiet at night, and nestled next to a forested hill on one side and brook on the other. During the day there is traffic noise, but we didn't notice it at night. We stayed three nights, and I wish we could have stayed longer.
We thought the extra few miles off the interstate were worth the drive once we arrived at this RV park. Every site has lots of space, there is a great hiking trail next to the park, plenty of space to walk our dogs, and no traffic noise. We hope to come back here soon.
We very much enjoyed our two nights here and would come back. Previous reviews complained about traffic noise and we almost didn't camp here because of it, but it was not a problem. We were aware of a low, constant traffic noise, but it did not bother us. I can't imagine finding a more convenient location at such a bargain rate. I gave an overall rating of 9; it would have been a 10 but some of the sites are too uneven. We could not get our motorhome level.
We have stayed at this campground three times, and always look forward to it. It is named for the 350-year-old royal oak in the middle of the campground, and it is the most beautiful tree I've ever seen. That alone would make this worth staying here. They are very pet friendly and adjoin a large field where you can exercise your dog. We found it quiet even though it's nearly in the city.
