This park is very clean, and most of the staff was friendly. They yelled at my 13 year old daughter at the pool for not having an adult there with her. We were watching from about 50 yards away at our camper. This was the most expensive place we ever stayed. It was $56 for one night, with two kids and two dogs (extra charge plus reservation fees). Then they charged my parents both $5 each when they came to visit us for dinner. Sites are very close together. Not much to do here except the pool and playground. OK if you're passing through, and you don't mind paying KOA premium rates.

This campground is a great location if you are looking to do some day activities around Manitou Springs and Colorado Springs. It has some descent shade trees in many sites. The pool was nice. The park was generally quiet in the evenings. Internet was free, but painfully slow. Office staff was very friendly and helped us out with a few things when we asked. I would like to see it a few bucks cheaper, but we would stay here again if we came back to the area.

Nice campground, but it's pretty remote. Being from the moderately flat midwest, we were not expecting such a climb pulling our trailer, and 14 miles of twisty road to get up to the campground. (Note: bring your RV/Camper up from the South instead of Golden Gate Canyon Road!) If we had realized it was so remote, we would have picked somewhere with easier access to Denver and freeways. It takes about 20-30 minutes to get to civilization. Campground was scenic and trails were great. We thought we could stay here and save a few bucks on camping fees, but then a rather unfriendly park patrolman gave me a $50 ticket for having a dog off leash. (It was an 11 p.m. bathroom run for my son, and there was nobody in our whole circle except us and my parents.) So be prepared to follow the book.
