This RV park is a very easy drive over to the beach in Gulf Shores/Orange Beach, only about 6 miles. The staff here at Anchors Away, was very accommodating and caring. The entire staff was helpful in every way. All sites were paved and had patios and picnic tables. Large sites with grass and very long pull through sites. It is a family friendly park and has very nice pool area. It is a great place to walk and 3 times around was 1 mile: an easy walk. They do have a workout room, which is not much to talk about and needs some work but the weather was nice so we opted to walk outside rather on the older treadmills. The restaurants in Foley were very accessible and very good if you did not want to drive to the beach. I would definitely recommend this park and we will for sure go back to this park next time we visit this area. Our rate reflects a monthly stay. Daily or weekly will be higher.
Trailor Life and Woodalls rated this park very high: a 9+. This park is nowhere near this high of a rating. The sites are very uneven and the site we were in was nothing but dirt and the fence was broken down. We were told that they were full and some of the sites we inquired about: were taken. We were here 4 days and the sites were still empty. My wife turned her ankle on the dirt/gravel site. The gravel has not been redone in probably 10 years. The sewer gas backed up into our RV: we had to unhook and just use our holding tank. The office staff was not especially friendly and could have cared less if we were here or not. There were several work kampers here, but the park still needs a lot of work. I would not go back to this KOA. I did give them at least a 2 rating because they do have a nice pool area.
Stayed here for 4 months. Concrete pads, but no picnic tables. Site # 50 is a nice level site and wide enough for a 5th wheel or motorhome. We were not bothered by the owners but they were always there when they were needed. They were very helpful when asked and they keep the park in tiptop shape. Very neat and clean. Some sites are very narrow and would not allow awnings to be fully extended. Sites around the concrete pads are gravel. They have storage on site also that is security protected. Will stay here again and recommend this park to others.
This place is horrible. You have to share the side by side hook-ups. The water faucet leaked and caused a large mud puddle by the hook up area. We never could get straight because of being on an angle. The ground was not level at all. The water smells like blood because of the iron content. Very heavy smell. The sinks and toilets in the guest area were stained very badly because of the iron content in the water. We were very unhappy with our site. The grass is at least 6" tall; and the gravel on the site that you park on, has not been replaced in probably 10 years. The picnic table was so badly warped you could not use it if you wanted to. We had registered to stay two nights; my first night had to be paid for when I made the reservation. I asked that they please refund the second night because we had changed our minds and did not want to stay two nights. I was told NO. I had made the reservation, they had me here for two days and needed 48 hours to cancel. I left the next morning because the site was so uneven and had very large tree stumps that I had to drive over. It was difficult to even walk inside my 40 foot unit because the site was so uneven. Even though I paid for it, I did not want to spend another night here at all. I will never go back.
This is a 1st class RV park. We enjoyed our time here very much and made our reservations for next year. This park stays very full and was not available for us to stay longer. We were here 13 days and they did have a weekly rate. The facilities are first rate and their pool is beautiful and clean. The bathrooms were very clean as was the entire park. There are many activities going on all the time and they have a beautiful large bus that they take on trips for the guests. They have a " Meat and Greet" every week where the guests can bring their meat to grill and a dish to share. Everyone cooks their own meat on a large outdoor grill. It is a great park for bike riding. The entire park has concrete pads with a concrete patios and grass. The sites are very large and roomy. The cable TV worked great and the WiFi is very strong. We had no problems with it and best part: it was free. This park is about 6 miles out of Kerrville, but it's a very nice drive into town. The only thing we would give a mark against would be the people in the office. They were not friendly at all. They didn't seem to care if we were here or not, and had a general cold attitude. Other than that, we highly recommend this beautiful park.
This is a very nice RV park. All concrete pads and some with very nice decks. We had a very nice view of the lake from our site #7. There is a really nice playground for the kids and even though we don't have a pet, it seemed very pet friendly. The location is very convenient to Grapevine and the mall. Our rate was $32.00 a night and that is because they had a special rate of 50% off for the month of February. Otherwise, the rate is around $60.00 per night for the site we had which was considered a Premium site. We felt that the rate we paid was very good but considering that they do not have any amenities: pool, workout room and a very small meeting room, $60.00 would have been a little over priced. The workers that are at the check in office seemed to be helpful but not over friendly.
