This is a very large park - needs some work on sites for large rig pull thru. The pool w/slide is accessible from the big rig area and the road in front of our rig was a freeway from noon to 6:00. Speeding autos as well as golfcarts (some of which were being driven by underage kids. The campground personnel REALLY speed. They need to figure out a way to curb/control the speeding to and from the pool. The big rig sites need some leveling work and make all the same price. Four sites on our row were considered premier sites and it wasn't any better than our site. ??? The management are very friendly and helpful - just need to work on roads, sites, speeding issues. I don't agree with their policy of increasing the price of sites for weekends. We would stay here again probably.
We camped here the month of June and because it is a quality RV park we decided to re-up for the month of July. We will be leaving Aug. 3 and all I can say is EXCELLENT, WONDERFUL RV Park!! We are full timers and can honestly say this is the cleanest, most friendly, most professional staff, park we have been in. The staff, including the workampers, bend over backwards to attend to your every need as well as show you a good time. Large pull thrus, close to all shopping and attractions. The only negative I can state, and this is no fault of the staff, is the rude RV'ers that think it is OK to cut through campsites because they are too lazy to go around! This the #1 rule of rving - DO NOT CUT THROUGH CAMPSITES! We have camped from California to east coast and this is the worst we've seen. YOU CAN'T FIX STUPID! Other than that this is a "10+ Park and hope to return someday.
Very disappointed in this park. Staff just OK. Staff was rude to our friends that are local and went to check out the park prior to our arrival. 90% of RVs are permanent. Only 5 rigs when we arrived at pull-throughs and only 1 left when we departed. Too expensive for what you get. Nothing to look at but trees. Tent camping has the best sites on water. Pull-throughs are not even close to water or views. Would not stay here again unless desperate. We were looking for 1 month park and this park is way too expensive! $1100.00/MO. Left after 3 days.
Will not stay here again. Their website is old and very misleading! At one time it probably was nice. Now is run down and 96% permanents. The amenities shown on website are non-existent, i.e., ice cream store, BBQ dinners. The cable guide listed on website with 66 channels does not exist. Only had 9 channels! The dog run could not be used due to the gnats and flies eating you up. Sites were not long enough to accommodate 40' M.H. w/tow as stated in info. Train track DIRECTLY behind park with blasting of horn starting at 5:00 a.m. The website should be brought up to date or removed.
This is a clean RV park. The back in sites are narrow and really not long enough for 40+ rigs with 1 car much less 2. The park is probably 70% permanent. The parking for guests is non-existent since permanents with 2 cars are allowed to take all available parking for their 2nd car. The office personnel are rude. This park could be dynamite, but their parking situation is not acceptable.
It was just o.k. Wouldn't stay there again. Not easy access from freeways. Very rundown. Should of just turned around and gone somewhere else. Gentleman that checked us in was very friendly but didn't bother to tell us that the info. on this park is outdated, i.e., no cable, no wifi. If we didn't have a dish dome we would of been out of luck for t.v. Roads are in very bad shape - he told me the pads were asphalt and level - not in this park! I couldn't find a piece of asphalt in our space. At one time I'm sure they probably were. We were the only traveler - out of 118 sites, approx. 20-25 were permanent. I can see why Good Sam got rid of them.
Don't ever stay at this park unless you are desperate! The lady at check in was very rude; should have just walked out and gone somewhere else. The park is so run down it should be shut down. There was only one other traveler there; the rest (10-15) were permanent residents. Out of 86 sites she put us right next to the road that mobile homeowners use to cut through the park to the street. It was a racetrack all night. The "lean-to" was so close to our motorhome we couldn't put out the awning. Nothing but dirt and ants! Couldn't wait to get out of there. Have never stayed in a park I felt we should sleep with a gun under the pillow.
We began our fulltime rving in Dec. After staying 1 mo. in a KOA that we thought was quite nice we moved to River Lodge just for a change of scenery. We will be here for 1 month and I can honestly say this is the best RV park we have been in so far in Florida. Sites are spacious, personnel are so friendly and helpful, park is spotless, all paved roads, level sites. While they don't offer organized activities (which we don't care for anyway) this is the most affordable park we have stayed in. The owner is aware that seniors are living on fixed incomes and not trying to "break our banks" with over charging and extra fees. This is the first park that we have stayed in with NO ELECTRIC cost for 1 month stays! Monthly cost is $500.00 (includes, tax and elect.) This is a big plus when living on fixed incomes. We are telling all our RV friends about this park and I highly recommend River Lodge if you want a beautiful, serene, quiet spacious, friendly experience. Plenty to do in the area.
