This campground served as our base camp on our first-ever Yellowstone trip. Good friendly staff, very helpful. Clean RV park, by a scenic highway leading to Yellowstone East entrance, not too noisy. Playground for children. Gravel RV lots. Great centralized location between Cody and Yellowstone! Had a good experience at this RV Park. The only drawback is the lack of a pool and other traditional campground amenities for kids on those days when you are recuperating from those long hikes in Yellowstone or white-water rafting down the Shoshone or Yellowstone river! Nevertheless, a fantastic and fair deal for the price!
During our Yellowstone National Park trip, we arrived pretty late in the evening in Rapid City, South Dakota. After a full day of driving and hiking the family was pretty tired. We had no reservations, no idea what the campground was like. We pulled in and were greeted by some very nice and friendly folks. We pull 29 foot Travel Trailer with a Chevy Suburban and had no problems navigating and pulling into the pull through sites. The kids enjoyed the recreation room, the wife thought the laundry facilities were clean and the restrooms and showers were also clean. We thought the pool was a little worn and showed its age. My family absolutely loved the view of the city from our campsite. Overall, we were pleased with the campground, however, I might have had a different opinion if the campground had been full. The sites were very close together.
This was a great overnight location! We stopped here on our Yellowstone National Park trip. The restrooms were clean, the laundry facilities were just as clean and neat, also the pool was well taken care of and clean. The pool was a great way for the kids to work off some energy! Staff was friendly and helpful. We are planning on staying over a little longer to explore the area in and around Oacoma, on our return trip to Yellowstone National Park. Overall, my family was very satisfied with the campground.
