This must be a great spot for IN SEASON time. We were not there at that time. Don't get me wrong . This place is great just to sit relax and watch the lake. The sunsets are fabulous. The sunrise and great also. Sitting at a fire watching the sun go down is relaxing. When we arrived we were greeted by a goose, and hundreds of their friends. You know what a goose can do--I mean doo-doo on the ground. It's everywhere. In defense of the KOA, it's the location and the time of year. This place was literally empty. With a crowd the geese would not be there....I don't think. Don't miss the boat ride and the town at Alexandria Bay. Millionaires row is a site of opulence in another generation. The food and bars are great too.
Rate is estimated. This KOA is just north of the hustle and bustle of Niagara Falls. Just a short ride to the Falls. Clean and neat as they go. A good location. Evenings were good with a campfire. Be sure to make a trip to the tip on the lake shore and work your way south along the lake seeing small villages and towns along the way for food, entertainment, and shopping
The rate is estimated here the site we were in was a premium patio drive thru. This is a VERY clean KOA. If you are staying for a long weekend the patio sites are the ticket here with table, a glider, and fire pit, all in concrete. The kids would have a ball here (we don't have kids) but there is so much to keep them busy here they won't want to leave. From a indoor pool to a zip line, smiles should be on their faces for the stay. Located between Watkins Glen and Corning that offer many places to see, don't miss the Corning Glass museum If you like wine. It would take you a week to get through this area. We tried our best but couldn't make the end....Cheers!
The roads are good but they are narrow to go along with the campsites themselves. We were in a 40 foot motorhome. Getting into the site was okay; getting out was done using the sites in front of us, which was empty. The next site over was close enough that we could hear what was said and also read their newspaper. Good spot to overnight before maneuvering Buffalo traffic heading for Niagara Falls. Friendly staff and helpful to know the area. Visit Ray's for lunch or dinner, great wings!
This a great place for long term or short. We stayed in a waterfront site (at winter rates) just steps from the lake. Our site was a little elevated and a little too high for our low riding Motorhome. Staff is great and very accommodating for our needs. The area is a good location for this part of the state. Just a short ride to any of the towns around. The roads are paved in the park. Pay the premium for the water front site you will enjoy the water view, well worth the price. We had a great time here. We will return again. I give it a 9 out of 10 and really want to see what they come up with to get a 10 on our next trip in the area.
We were lucky on the rate not so much on the cards and one arm bandits. The site was $45 per night, but all veterans were FREE!!! for the weekend. All sites are concrete pads in this 2 year old park that has boat rentals and kayaks rentals on site. Soaring Eagle has free parking in their parking lot across the street from the casino, but this is better for my family. We spoil our selves with restrooms, full hook ups, and A/C when needed. You will enjoy the quite compared to the parking lot. Bus pick up every half hour to visit or deposit your money. I'm not thrilled on the restaurant's at the casino, but they are convenient.
This place is SPIC N SPAN clean. Great concrete pads on most sites. Located in with a clump of large trees on the west side and half way back from the office. The site were NOT in a row or side by side. All of the sites in this area were almost placed so that you were not looking at another RV. It was great. They have the best lawns in the city. Helpful staff. This is the cleanest RV part we have ever stayed in. Three pools, 1 is indoors. Play grounds, for the kids. Can't say enough for the Poncho's Pond.
The park campsites are in a field and three or four shaded spots that are not within the other sites, but back in the trees isolated from others. There is no sun in these spots. In the field there was a bathroom that didn't have paper in there for the 4 days the we stayed. This location is fine for seeing the sites. Freeway is just around the corner. Trains 24 / 7 for those romantic nights. Pool was closed look like it was closed for some time.
Nice campground. Dirt road, but solid good place for kids with pool and play grounds. Easy to maneuver in the park with a dingy. This our second time here and will be back. The lake has alligators, watch out for your dog. After my wife saw the thing she would not walk the dog back there. Good location for Charleston. If you are coming from the south on 17 do not go through town, go around on the freeway on the South side of town. The lanes are tight in town with a 40 ft MH and a dingy. Also, I clipped most of the trees.
Nice park has all the things that we look for in a campground. River View lots and not "View" you can not hear or see the river it is there but the brush takes over the seeing and the looking on our river site. It took us about 15 to 20 minutes to pull out of the park onto Busy rt 28. There was construction on the road and and the traffic was heavy and with 48K of weight and a toad I don't have a "hotrod" RV and I like my RV and Toad not to get bent up trying to get out of the entrance. We like the area very much and I will return to Gladstone but will try other parks.
This park is on RT 28 the busy hwy will keep you in the park for activities like bikes and walking to town. Town is a few miles to the east and by car it is great as well as Christmas which is short on stores and long on finding something here except the Casino. There were dogs everywhere when the locals come to the office to chat and they come with many dogs. Now I am a dog owner myself but putting my dog on the ground was not a option since the dogs were loose and my little 5 pound mutt is afraid of other dogs. Make sure that you meter check the AMP's coming into your RV so that you do not burn out the appliances. Nice views of the Lake but if you want a site ON the lake call early. They are gone by January 30th of the season year
