This is a great park for one night or a weekend visit while seeing Solvang. The park is close to Split Pea Anderson's (walking distance) and relatively close to Solvang. You would need a car to visit Solvang. The staff at the park was friendly and attentive. The park was well kept and groomed nicely. Even though relatively close to the freeway, it was really quiet at night. Wi-Fi was free. Rates among my top 10 places to stay.
The park is as advertised, located adjacent to a winery. The downside is that it is located in an exposed and raised area, which receives wind gusts in the afternoons. If you have a choice, do not stay in the upper south side, as it is located next to a highway and the traffic noise is constant. The park is very well maintained and the restrooms were flawless. The staff at registration on a Sunday could have cared less, but did take care of business. You will need a vehicle, if you plan on seeing the town, too far to walk. Also, the local Yellow Cab company was found to be totally unreliable. A good alternative was a company called "Fetch". For the price, very attractive and well kept park, but the noise in the upper park south/side was a definite negative.
This is absolutely the cleanest, most desirable RV park you will stay in! It is extremely clean, with courteous staff, well manicured sites, plenty big enough, and with green belts on both sides of your RV. Only downer was the poor Wi-Fi reception. Very spotty. Otherwise, great place to stop. They also offer free shuttle service to the casino and small downtown area. Highly recommended.
I have used this park on numerous occasions in the past. Great Mexican restaurant close by. Unfortunately, they are allowing semi-permanent residents, who appeared less than desirable as evidenced by the beer drinking. Several young men hanging around, with no visible means of support, and in general made you want to really watch your stuff! Basically, feeling of unsafe based upon 27 years as a cop! No longer on my list of places to stay.
Outstanding state park! Lots of paved bike trails to take you all over the park and to the beach. The RV sites are all shaded with huge trees and the park rules were observed, with respect to quiet hours. This is well worth a visit. Will go again.
Park overlooks ocean, with some ocean view sites available. Entrance comes up very quick, so you really have to be watching! Park was very clean and quiet. Hosts were helpful and courteous. Would recommend. Can walk to Moe's and a few other restaurants for dinner. Not for those who do not want to walk.
