This place is great! The last person who reviewed this must be smoking something. I came here with my family 2 adults 3 kids! We were not charged extra because we had kids! Most other places would have charged me $9+ more a night for my kids. The pool was great and the showers where clean and big! There were people who stayed there in the summer I talked to a few and if you looked at their licenses plates you could see their counties and see they were near to the campground! The staff was nothing but friendly and nice. The river was nice and cool on the hot days and there was $8 tubing only 0.5 miles away along with great BBQ. If I go back I will be going back to this park, I can see why they have won RV Park of the year two years in a row.
I have been camping here for the past 4 years mostly at the tent sites. Giant city is only 20 miles from where I live and my kids love hiking here. The grounds are very nice and clean, the people are friendly, and the showers were clean also. They do have water if you get a spot near a pump and have a Y joint. This was my first time here with a RV and I have to say for $20 a night you don't get much. The last time I was here back in Oct 2009 it was $15 a night. I love the area but I think for now on, we are just going to have to do the day trips here as $20 a night for only power is a lot of money. I can spend $15 more and get full hook ups at other places. I give it a 7 because of the price, but a 10+ for how pretty this area is and how much history is in one park.
It's a nice campground. The people who worked there were friendly and helpful. It's pool was nice and the kids loved the playground. I-57 noise was not that bad but you can hear it. Internet was a little slow could not watch movies or go on some sites. It's a nice place in all but I really can't see myself going there again since 2 miles away I could get a spot at Rend Lake for $16 full hook up. If you do have to stay here its not that bad at all.
