We stayed here for about two weeks visiting family in the area. The park is very nice and clean with constant upkeep and the office staff were most helpful and friendly. There isn't alot of amenities but then its not a rv park per se, however it is within close distance to anything you would need. We will definitely stay here again.
We were there for the Reedsport chainsaw competition and spent 4 nights here. Park was everything you would want, clean, comfortable and reasonable. All roads accessible and in great condition. We will definitely be back.
They said big rigs OK' however unless you want to tear the roof off your RV, I recommend you stay clear of this park. They told us it was a RV park; however, I think we were the only transient RV in the park and judging from the leaf accumulation and low hanging tree branches on all the roads, there hasn't been an overnighter in some time. The staff was friendly, but that is the only nice thing I can say. We damaged our ladder from trees and both entrances are bad, but the south entrance is almost impossible with a RV. The front is accessible, but you will drag branches on the roof. I promise, we will NEVER return.
This is a very nice campground with an excellent golf course. We met up with family from California and Washington, and stayed for a week. The only thing keeping this from a 10 was the few and far between trash deposits. We were in the C loop and it would have been great to have had a container at the middle of the loop, instead of all sites having to go to the start of the loop for trash disposal.
We stayed here for two nights and the price reflects having only w & e. Also we had the Good Sam discount. We didn't need sewer as we were only here two days. We stayed here in early 2006 and have enjoyed our stay both times. The last time there were more RV factories to go through, but there is still plenty to do in the area.
I am giving a ten for only the second time in our two years of full time traveling. What this place doesn't have, you don't need. Every thing was perfect including the price which was very reasonable, and the meal at the restaurant was great as was the service. We would definitely stay here again.
Stayed overnight on our way west. The staff was very friendly and the park was "OK". I thought it was a little spendy for being out in the middle of nowhere with no amenities unless you want to count the constant passing of trains a very short distance away. They didn't wake me, but when we were awake you could very easily hear them and they came through OFTEN. I doubt I would stay here again.
We stayed here overnight and the owner was very friendly and since we were one of two campers due to the time of year we had our choice of sites. The weather was very cold with snow and major wind so we didn't look around too much but the sites seemed plenty wide and they are major long. I got my truck and 39' 5th wheel and could have gotten another one almost as large in behind. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
We stayed here on our way to the west coast. We had planned on one night, but due to weather made it two. Staff was very friendly and helpful and due to the time of year, we had our choice of sites. We would definitely stay here again.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Although they had no cable, the antenna was plenty good for several local channels. The WiFi also worked very well. The park is very near I-40 but due to the retaining wall we couldn't hear any traffic. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.
Rate is for the monthly rate of $250. We stayed here for 5 weeks visiting relatives and friends before heading west. Park is nothing special but totally ok for all your needs. There are spots close for shopping and eating plus a nice half mile path around a lake right beside the park. Good exercise source which I used almost every day. We will definitely be back.
Stayed here a week, the staff and park were very nice. Sites were big enough and the shade trees were welcome. The close proximity to all attractions makes this a sought after location. The only downside was what I considered extremely high rates, however the other parks in the area may have been the same. I guess this whole area is just overpriced. I didn't pay this much on the high priced west coast and this was the weekly rate.
After reading the last review I was hesitant to stay here, however since it was a year old and with few options we decided to give it a try. The rate is for the weekly rate and since it was so reasonable we took the weekly rather than the $25 nightly rate. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff was great and the park was perfectly situated in the trees. True, some of the sites weren't the best backin angles and some weren't very level from front to back, however many were just fine. Ours was plenty large enough for our 5th wheel with 4 slides and the awning. Due to the park being in a lower area the cell service and pc wireless was not very good, however a short walk up the hill gave us enough cell service to make any calls we needed to make. The park was going all out for the upcoming halloween and many residents were also joining the spirit and had their sites and rigs decorated to the hilt. It is a great place for families with children and although we had no children with us, we sure enjoyed our stay here and will definitely will return.
We stayed here a week while waiting for parts to repair our landing leg. The staff was very friendly and the park was very nice. They spend a lot of time each day re-leveling sites and filling in low spots. The only down side to the whole park is the sites are a little narrow. They would have been a lot nicer if only a little wider. Other than that the area offered plenty of shopping and restaurants to occupy your time and the "River Wall Walk" was worth the time to see. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here overnight on our way across MO. to visit relatives. I was concerned about the previous reviews but found the park to be just fine. The sites were level enough and the park manager was very friendly. I heard the train and traffic when I was outside but nothing when inside with the door closed. I would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for two weeks while visiting relatives. We got one of the two sites with a sewer hookup. The site was beautiful and spacious. There was a table, BBQ, and fire pit and plenty of dead wood laying around for a fire. The only down side was the sewer connection was on the opposite side from the water and electric. There was a sewer site on that side but it was glued shut and unusable. Their rules only allow a 14 day stay and that is too bad. In the whole two weeks we only had someone else in the other site for two nights. The price reflects the golden age card which allows for half price. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here a week (that's the weekly price) and except for the exceptional heat wave, it was great. They had a really nice BBQ the day we checked in and the staff was super. The cable and wi-fi worked perfectly and it was pretty quick also. There is plenty of shopping and restaurants close by but not much in the line of sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.
We spent a week here on our way to visit relatives in Kansas (price is weekly rate). Park was OK with friendly staff and necessary needs. Park is right next to a golf course and while it was cheap, it was also the most challenging course I have ever played. You have a choice, fairway or rough that is up to your knees. No other options, and the fairways were extremely narrow and only two greens can be see from the tee box. The greens however were great. We would stay here again. Woodalls list this park in York, but the actual address is Waco and it's right on I-80. York has plenty of shopping including a Wal-Mart and it's only 7 miles west.
Very nice little park right on Hwy. 385. Some train noise from a nearby staging station but not enough to be a problem. No restrooms available but park is being upgraded. Each station has it's own electrical feed so you aren't dropped from a neighbors usage. Sites 1 & 2 are back ins but in my opinion were the best sites. You don't have neighbors right next to you as most sites are side by side hookups. These sites allowed a small grass strip between with some small shade trees. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay again. Park is pretty laid back and cash or checks are the method of payment as they don't take credit cards.
This is a very pretty campground nestled with most sites deep in the pine trees. Some are in the open right along Hwy.16/385 and these would not be the best spots. The really big downside is the narrow inner roads and very narrow sites. The Woodalls said typical width 30'. Mine was more like 21 and I didn't see any that would have been 30'. I was in a 39' 5th wheel and was at their "large pull thru with 50 amp." We were sandwiched in pretty tight when our section was full.
While my 10 rating may not be others, this campground had everything we wanted. We came for 3 days and stayed 11 days. The park is an oasis with lots of shade trees, nice, long, level sites with owners that went way out of their way to make your stay prefect. It's close enough to all the things we want to see so we just parked the trailer and took several day trips. There is also a very nice golf course a couple miles away in Salem. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here a week on our way across Minnesota and due to length of our stay were give sites 35/36 which were actually end to end tent sites with full hookups and all grass sites. We loved it. We had plenty of room with large shade trees and easy access to everything. The park is right next to a really nice little 9 hole par 3 course to work your irons, complete with a driving range. It was of course, near the Spam Museum and not far from the Winnebago factory in Foster City, IA which was an interesting tour. We would definitely stay here again. The rate listed was the weekly rate.
This park is not anything I would normally look for in an RV park. About 98% of the park appears to be seasonal sites (they are open from April 15-Oct. 15). Some of the mobiles are OK, but the vast majority needed lots of TLC. In spite of this we really enjoyed our stay here. The transient sites are on the east side butting up against a large meadow with a woodsy area behind that. We had a large pull through grass site among lots of trees with a lot of birds, rabbits, and squirrels running around. The park is right beside busy Hwy. 12, however except for a few vehicles it wasn't a problem. The park for the most park is very quiet. It's a short walk/drive into a quaint little town with grocery shopping about 3/4 mile from camp. Madison is only about 23 miles away and there is lots to see within about 25 miles all directions. We would stay here again. I would have rated higher however I checked out the bathrooms and found them to be very dirty. I would not have used them at all. The park takes cash/checks only. No credit cards. Very laid back management.
We were here for their Polkafest deal and the park was in pretty good shape considering the massive amounts of rain and adverse weather they had. The staff is friendly and the sites are large enough with the only down side being totally flat with no trees. They say they have planted trees, which they have, but they are about 1 gallon size and will grown in about 20 years. The Amana Colonies were interesting and we enjoyed our stay here. The weather was another story. We would stay here again if in the area.
We stayed here overnight and were the only camper until late in the afternoon. Sites have full hookups but are VERY narrow and with two large rigs side by side with slides it would be very tight. They were pretty level gravel and long enough we were able (barely) to get truck and trailer off the access roads so we didn't have to unhook. Staff was friendly enough but I felt it was a little spendy for what was offered. There was a gas station and restaurant within easy walking distance. We would stay here for another overnighter if needed.
Very nice park with long pull throughs. Other than weak cell phone service and WiFi (ours) the park was great. Not much to do around the area unless your into gambling. The town of Holton is a nice quaint little town and we enjoyed just parking and walking around downtown. We were here for the Memorial Day celebrations so there were a few things to see and do. The restaurants in the casino had great food but were a little pricey. We would definitely stay here again.
This park is nearer Independence, KS than Elk City. Only sites 1-11 of the Comfort Cove section have full hookups and you can only stay 14 days without an extension. We were able to get a week extension but to get more we would have had to leave the campground then come back and hope a site was available. Other than a rising lake from torrential rains which did not pose a risk in the Comfort Cove section, but did some of the other sections, the park is really nice with ample size sites and friendly staff. We would stay here again.
Very nice park with very friendly and helpful staff. This is PPA price with addon for 50 amp and pullthru. It is out of the hublub of downtown and still very close to get to. We were here 4 days and our site was very spacious and long. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for two weeks visiting relatives. The weekly rate was $70 but daily rate is $12 per night. Nothing special, but great rates, very laid back staff and next to Boomland which has a store, restaurant, misc. shopping, fuel, etc. There was no additional charge for 30 vs 50 amp service. Easy in and out access and very near I-57 but noise wasn't a factor. Park was not very full due to unseasonably cool weather and management didn't care if you used the site next to you for parking an additional vehicle if it was empty. VERY LAID BACK. We will definitely stay here again.
I made the mistake of rating this park the first night here and after what happened I attempted to edit my rating and was told I had to wait 90 days to rate again. Well it has now been 90 days and here is my true rating. We had reserved a 50 amp pull through but when we arrived were told there are no pull throughs in the park and were given a very narrow back in with 30 amp. We were still ok until we discovered the first night, they had us listed as arriving the day before and leaving a day early. Thinking this was a typo we went up the next morning to get it taken care of and were told since we had checked in before their 4 PM check in time (we were at 1 PM) we were charged an extra days fee. We were told it would be $34 extra to stay another day as we had planned. After talking it over we went back to the office and talked to another lady who informed us since it was a Friday, the rate would be $49. When I ask why the other lady had told us $34, her reply was: "I have no idea, the rate is $49." I informed them they could keep their park and we left Friday. That same day we met a couple on the golf course who has stayed here many times and told us they had never been charged an early check in fee and they had checked in at times before noon. Apparently this park is so big they don't care about the people that made them that way. I would drive all night in the future to prevent staying at this park ever again. The park itself is ok, but the staff is beyond terrible.
What a beautiful park. We stayed in the full hookup loop but even that was great with all the trees and green grass. The only downside was it was so cold we weren't able to enjoy it as we were only here for one night. I would love to come back and spend more time in warmer weather. Our congratulations to the state of Arkansas for doing such a great job of having a park without losing the environment. We would definitely come back.
This was a beautiful park for an overnight stay. The site we were in was on a slope and was fine as long as I didn't need to disconnect the truck. The angle would have made that tough. The view was excellent and weather was just as nice. We paid the Golden Age rate but the normal rate was only $15 for our site. Of course it only had electric and the antenna did pick up a couple channels so it was just fine for one night.
We spent 4 days here and found the staff to be extremely friendly and helpful. The park is too new to have any developed trees but it is a nice park with adequate size sites and a small store on-site. The pool and grounds appear to be well taken care of and although it was the worst weather the Dallas area has had in some time the park handled the massive rains without a problem. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here 4 days on our trip east. I don't understand the previous review regarding the truck noise. Our site was near the entrance and we never heard the freeway at night. Sitting outside during the day, we could occasionally hear some trucks, but no problem. We enjoyed the large sites and shade trees. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only downside was the cost which is normal for a KOA. We would stay here again.
Park is only about a year old and is very much in the process of being developed. The cable is in the ground but at the moment only about 3 stations were available from the antenna. The sites were very long and pretty wide, (about 40x100)and access roads in the park were OK. The park is about 1000' from I-20 (noise was no problem) and the last couple hundred feet of that road is pretty much like a washboard but going slow takes care of that. We only stayed overnight and at the moment that is the best purpose for the park. They have a lot of plans for the next 10 years and I am sure it will be a nice park some day. We would stay here again.
We stayed overnight on our way to Missouri. Although I had called several days earlier to get a reservation, no one returned my call. On the up side when I showed up there were plenty of spots open and the staff was very friendly. The rate reflects my KOA Value card. Sites were wide enough for our 39' with slides and although there wasn't much in the line of vegetation it made a perfectly good spot for an over night stay. I would stay here again anytime we are in the area.
We stayed here two weeks on our way east. We loved the park and staff. True, the speed limit is strictly enforced, however, A. it's his park, he gets to make the rules & B. if your site is along the entry road as ours was, you don't appreciate the dust from speeding vehicles. I don't like speeders in my neighborhood whether I am in an RV or a stick house in a residential area. We branched out to Carlsbad Caverns and Alamagordo from here and had a great time. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping very close. The only thing that would have been nice was a table at our site. Many had them, but not ours. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.
Excellent park with very friendly staff. The only drawback is the train tracks nearby, however they never bothered us to the point of being a problem. Park is close to several neat towns and things to do. We stayed a week and would return anytime we are through the area.
Park is very well maintained and clean. There are a lot of permanent sites and the site we had was a back in and at least 50' wide. The only thing keeping this from a 10 was no cable TV and no table at the sites, although there was a large concrete pad for a table and chairs. This park is perfect for branching out to Phoenix and even Tucson, and is very close to shopping, golf, and eating out. We stayed here two weeks and would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for two weeks and branched out to Quartzsite and Lake Havasu on day trips. The staff was very friendly and helpful, plus the resort offered many functions most of which were either free or very resonably priced. They offered a nice pool, spa, library, billiard and exercise room along with several classes on various subjects. We really enjoyed this park and would stay here again.
Sites are big enough, but not totally level. There is no shade around but it is the desert. They have great hot mineral spas and a heated swimming pool with a small cafe on site. There appear to be a lot of permanent and repeat visitors that come year after year. It appears to be an older crowd, but all were very friendly. They have a lot of activities going all the time. The first two days of our week stay were extermely windy, but then it calmed down and was beautiful. The closest decent grocery store is about 25 miles away in Brawley. We went the additional 18 miles to El Centro. All in all it was a pretty decent place to spend a week.
Excellent park, close to attractions and friendly staff. Would have rated a 10 but while the sites are large enough, it's a real trial to get a big rig in on the access roads. While making a turn with my 39' 5th wheel into my access road off the main access road, it was so tight the rear of my trailer took out a Jaguar parked in front of his site (on the already narrow road and legally in his parking spot). The roads need to be wider or make other arrangements for the back in parking sites along the main access road.
I was a little concerned staying here after reading all the bad reviews, however when our place of choice turned out to be full we had no choice. The park turned out to be one of the best we have stayed in. The staff at checkin were very friendly and helpful, the site was a south side back in with plenty of room and nothing but grass behind us. There was plenty of width and room for our truck and 39' 5th wheel. Sites on the north side are pretty close to the freeway so I imagine they could get noisy, but ours was perfect. The only downside was no cable, other than that we would have given it a 10.
We came in midweek and got the 4 for the price of 3 deal. Thats why it shows so cheap. I had requested a pull through with 50 amp service but was given a back in with 30 amp. Since we were only going to be here a couple of days, it was no big deal. Lots of good eating places nearby and a clean well laid out park with friendly staff. We would stay here again.
Very nice park with a very friendly staff. This park has all you can ask for and the only reason I didn't go a 10 is the deluxe sites we stayed here are a little close together and I doubt both tenants could extend their awnings at the same time where the doors face each other. Other than that it's great and close to the coast and other sights to see. We are staying here a week.
We stayed here overnight and found it to be a really nice place. It is close to anything you need, clean, and reasonably priced. We would have stayed here longer if we hadn't already made reservations at our next stop. Since it was New Years Day, we picked our spot then went and payed on the honor system. A definite stop if we come back through here.
We spent 3 days here on our way to Alaska. Excellent park with large sites nestled in amongst tall trees. We would have loved to stay longer but they had no room after our 3 days. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for 3 days in July and 3 days in late August both on our way to and back from Alaska. The grounds were always nice and clean and sites were large enough for our long 5th wheel. The staff were friendly enough but not overly so. It is in a great location for town and all you need to get to. We would definitely stay here again.
We stayed here for a month and the rate was a reasonable $420 plus electric. We also stayed here a couple weeks in June 06, but the monthly sites were much better. The entire back of our site was grass and within walking distance to a small strip mall with food, starbucks and a couple stores. It was a very nice, clean and well managed park. We will stay here anytime we are in the area.
We stayed here 2 nights and the site we were in was great with both length and width being ample. There wasn't much to do at this location however as a stop off park it was fine. The staff was helpful and friendly and the internet cost was $2 for 30 minutes and had to be done at the office. It still allowed a way to stay in touch. We would stay here again.
We spent 3 days here enroute to Alaska. The staff was friendly and the computer room made it nice to get hooked up and stay in touch. The only downside was the "wide spacious sites" advertised were pretty narrow and required some care getting in and out.
We stayed here 3 days and were very impressed with the park and owners. They were very helpful and friendly and the park was both roomy and clean. It is also pretty close to town for sightseeing purposes. We will stay here again if in the area.
We stayed here 3 days on our way to Alaska, and while the campground was OK, it was not as advertised. The office showed an open sign the whole time, however it was only open and staffed on the last day we were there and the staff wasn't very helpful. We would not stay here again.
We stayed here for 2 months and enjoyed it a lot. The park is clean and well maintained, plus the new owners are making a huge commitment to make this park really great. They hosted a nice xmas get together at no charge for tenants plus passed out cookie gifts to monthly tenants. Great place.
