Very nice CG. Well maintained and modern. Best place for going to the Hershey attractions, they also provide a free shuttle.

We stayed about 4 nights while viewing the falls. Nice CG with a lot of amenities. Two outdoor pools, one indoor pool, rental bikes, etc. See their web site for more info. Typical KOA, sites were a little close but it did not present any problems. I did not give it a higher score because the grounds could have been kept a little better. Had trouble with local buses and taxis but that was not a CG issue. Everybody was very friendly and helpful. Area outside of the CG is a little questionable but that did not present any problems for us.

We stayed in site C6 for two nights. As others have mentioned, there is standing water everywhere when it rains. Not much mud. This area is very low and on the inlets of the Chesapeake Bay. Not much drainage for the water. There were quite a few seasonal sites but that was not a problem for us. The staff was friendly and helpful. Small camp store with a few essential supplies. Roads were paved. Security gate to get in but code posted at the gate, not much of a security gate. CG would be nice for a family that used the water access, we do not. If visiting the Baltimore area again, we would stay somewhere else.

Very nice city park. We came in late and were assisted by a park ranger. We could not get the MH level in the site we had. But we stayed the night and the next day they let us move to a better site. This was fall so leaves were everywhere. They had cleared all roads and site pads so it made it much easier to park. We would stay here again.

We stayed for a few days during the week. Not too crowded. Staff was very friendly. We were escorted to our site. Campground was nicely set up with space between most sites. Site was level. All roads and sites are gravel so there is a little dust from other rigs and cars when going through campground. The distance to Skyline drive is further than expected, about 30 miles and 40-45 minutes. My wife liked the caverns on site. Cost is only $13 for campground residents. Local town (New Market) is just a small, nice community. There are a good selection of places to eat. Not much in the way of stores but the staff will help you find what you need.

This park is rustic. It is back in the woods with a lot of shade. I had no problem with a 33' MH getting in. Hit a few branches, the roads were good. The roads to the CG are not well marked. There is a CG host around to help and sometimes you will see a forest ranger, not many. Has nice sites with 30amp electric, water was nearby for fill-up, and there is a dump station in park. Each site has a picnic table. Pets are allowed. Yes, there are woods and ticks; it's a state forest.

The staff was very nice. Escorted us to our site. Sites are nicely spaced. We only spent a quick night driving up I-85. There is a fenced-in dog run area.

Management was very nice. They close at 7:00 pm: we were running late and they called to check on us. They waited until we got here (just before 7) and escorted us to our site. Sites are well laid out with enough room for the MH and the car. Grounds were well maintained. It had rained a lot, but the roads were not muddy. There is a nice play ground for kids and a fenced-in dog run area. We would stay here again.

We stayed two nights as a "R & R" from home life. The park is very nice, well kept up, and clean. For a state park it has a lot of amenities. Only 30 amp, not 50; but that did not present us with any problems. Water but no sewer. Well maintained dump site that was close to campground. We could not reserve a specific site but we could reserve one with water and electric. Site B17 had the hookups and picnic table on the same side. We noticed other sites set up the same way but not all. Just an inconvenience not a problem. They supplied firewood at a charge of $.50 per piece but I don't think everyone was paying (honor system). They have a nice swimming pool and non-powered boats for rent. Both were closed; we were late in the season. We would stay there again.

Smoky Bear Campground is very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This is one of the cleanest campgrounds we have ever stayed at. It is not large but that gives the staff/owners more time to spend with each client. There are some seasonal sites but they appear to be near the road where there may be a lot of noise. Pool is nice with a whirlpool. Kid's playground is nearly new and well kept up. Use your GPS to find the campground, the coordinates on their web site take you directly to the office. My only complaint is the distance to Gatlinburg: about 13 miles. But I can live with that. I would stay at this CG again.

This is a very well run campground. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There are some sites right along the stream/river. Some of the pull through sites are a little tight. There are some seasonal campers but they are not the majority. We were there at the beginning of the season (first week in April) and it was about half full. I would recommend reservations in the summer. Nice, family atmosphere. About 1 mile from downtown Gettysburg and you can purchase tickets at the campground.

We were just stopping here to spend the night while on I-95. We called and asked for a pull through site and told them the size of our rig and we had a toad. The site was not quite long enough, we sort of hung out. The site did not have 50 amp service but that was not a problem. It rained that night and the campground was wet but not too muddy. Staff was friendly. Not bad for a quick overnighter but we did not get to check out the pool or other facilities.

This is a very nice albeit expensive campground. They will try to sell you a campsite. I don't know the whole deal, we did not listen to the pitch. You will have problems if you have more than your RV and one vehicle, not much parking. They did ask the year of our rig so there may be restrictions on the age of the rig. We were in site 9 and could not get satellite reception, too many buildings. They do offer access to the beach, it is a short walk. Nice pool but not heated. Well landscaped. We will return.

Gunter Hill is not a bad park, just getting old and the lack of funds is showing. Our site (48) was a little beat up and in need of repairs. The bathrooms and showers were also in need of some care. The staff was very friendly. I would say that many of the staff and long term campers were retired persons. We may stay there again.

We stayed here to go to the Kings Dominion amusement park. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They have a shuttle over to the amusement park. Site was pull through but not very long. Sites were close together, we were at 172. Campground can be noisy because of the amusement park and nearby railroad track. Pool was already closed for season but we were told they have life guards when it is open. Campground is showing its age, could use some upgrades. There are very small signs with no lights, very easy to miss at night. Close to I95 for overnight stays. We do plan to stay here again when going to King Dominion.

American Heritage has been doing some work on the grounds. Many of the sites now have level cement pads. They have also paved the entrance to the park but not the roads. It appears the work has killed some of the grass at the sites. That may be repaired in time. It is still a nice CG, and they are working to keep it up to date. We will stay there again.

We stayed here about 3 years ago and returned. Very nice campground. Roads have been improved and they are in very good shape. They had a band on Saturday night. I think the pool is new. Water was a little cold but it is still early in the year. They are adding more sites and I think they are building a new office. Everyone was very friendly, both staff and campers. If you are on a bike, take a ride down the country road just outside the campground. It is a scenic ride through farmland and has very little traffic.

This is one of the nicest NPs I have ever stayed at. They have an area with pull throughs that does allow generator use for about 5 hours per day, enough to recharge the batteries. No hookups but that is normal for a NP. If you have a large rig, make sure it will fit on the site given to you by the reservation system. We had a problem the first night. Staff was very friendly and moved us the second night. Tents had nice sites with freshly mowed grass. Only about 4 showers for over 100 sites, could be a wait. Also charged $1 for 5 minutes. Lots to see inside park and the surrounding area. We will stay here again.

Campground is kept clean but is showing signs of age. Most sites had an electric meter indicating that it could be used as a seasonal site. In fact many sites were seasonal but were well kept. Easy to miss the entrance, did not see a sign. We used this as a base to see the sites in Hershey and it worked well for us. Our site did not have any grass, just gravel. We did not use it but there was a very nice playground for the kids. We may use the campground again if we cannot get closer to Hershey.

Very nice park for overnight stay when on I-95. Almost all sites are very large pull throughs so you do not have to disconnect. 50 amp sites ONLY have a 50 amp connection, no 20 or 30. We left before getting to meet staff but they were very helpful when we made the reservation.

We spent one night just to check out the park. It is a well groomed state park. Currently some amenities are under renovation. Sites are well spaced and some are very private. There was some trash around the park, I wish people would take care of the public parks. Water pressure was low and had trouble with the faucet. Has nice beach but you can only swim in the pool (closed when there in April). They also have non-power boats for rent.
