The sites were very close together, but during the week we didn't have any "neighbors" and even when we did get someone next to us it wasn't too bad. The golf carts were there zipping around, but I found all of the drivers to be courteous. I have two small kids and never felt that they were in any danger. The place was very clean, especially the pool area. The drive into the town of Cape May wasn't very far. I was concerned about parking at the beach, but we didn't have any trouble finding a parking space. Do bring a lot of quarters as you will need them for parking and if you're going to use the showers. One quarter gets you a good shower, but you'll need two quarters ladies if you need to shave your legs!
This is a very clean state park. The bathroom facility has a "family bathroom" which is wonderful when camping with two small kids. The playground was nice too. Also we had issues with our electric and the ranger was very helpful, even though it turned out to be a problem with our trailer and not the site. I would return another time.
If you go here in the summer be sure to come armed with loads of bug spray for both your person and the bathroom facilities. I have been in many campgrounds and have never seen this number of mosquitoes! Also, be prepared to pick up garbage left behind by the previous campers. If it wasn't for the bugs and trash, it would be a very lovely campground. I may consider returning in the fall, but never again in the summer.
