This place is not well maintained at all. Sites are not even close to level & are all dirt. But it is centrally located and does have hook ups. They do take reservations so you are assured of having a spot. So if you are going to fish or sight see, and don't plan on staying at camp much, it is fine.
This camp has not been kept up. It is old and messy. Owner couple are very friendly and helpful, but sites are small and close and not many trees. For the price we will not be back. No Wi-Fi, cable, & have to pay to fish in pond. Campers should fish free with a limit! Pictures shown are very old so don't be fooled like we were.
This is a no frills park. We were actually not even inside the park. We were in what seemed like a big gravel parking lot across from the office. It seems like it is run down but maybe nice in it's day. The couple there were very nice and helpful. We stayed just one night. Laundry room clean and convenient to our site. Seemed a little pricy for what you get.
This is a very nice camp, well kept, grounds were landscaped nicely, and was lots of fun for kids. They are pretty strict with rules, however don't always enforce them. There were some real party'ers making lots of noise until 2 AM. All in all we really liked this place, but mostly stayed to go to Sequoia Natl Park.
We stayed here as a home base for Yosemite and to visit some friends in the area. For that it served the purpose. However, we were very uncomfortable and happy we were not in camp much. The sites are so close our awning was touching our neighbors. They make you park face to face, so no privacy at all. Our tables were about an inch apart while having dinner. And forget the campfire. Our fire ring was about 18" away from neighbors. Didn't use bathrooms/shower because of the steep uphill walk. Barking dogs all night from permanent residents. This is an OLD trailer park with RV camping as an after thought. Do not judge by pictures on their website, this place is a dump. But if your not going to be there, and just want hookups, it is OK. Biggest problem is, it's the only place in Oakhurst to stay except for Elks Club, (in which you have to be a member and that's just a steep, dirty parking lot).
This is a beautiful campground. Close to the road, but not much noise because of the beauty of the river. The views are gorgeous and there is a deck out over the river where you can sit for hours watching the rafters and wildlife. It is very well maintained and clean. The owner is nice and helpful and appeared to be a hard worker. Office was dull, drab and dark, but we weren't in there long. We would go back for sure!
Our stay here was just OK, sites are close together and very little landscaping except for around the front and office area. The actual camp area is plane with very little trees or anything. No shade, very little grassy area. Facilities are far from camping area. Office and store seemed very nice and people were friendly when you first go in. I would not recommend this camp or go back for the price!
We were here for the 4th of July and had a ball, this town goes crazy on the 4th. We didn't know this we just happened to be there visiting Glacier National Park. The owners are very nice, friendly, hardworking and helpful. It is a very laid back atmosphere and we enjoyed it a lot. We had family staying in the motel, which was freshly renovated and updated. Small but nice. We stayed 3 nights. The sites are kind of close, but very few came in during our stay so it was not crowded, however the motel was full. We would go back.
We were a little disappointed in this park. It looked like it was really nice at one time but they haven't kept it up or put any money back into it. No landscaping, the tables were so old and worn they were unusable. We had requested a site close to the motel as a family member would be staying there. But when we arrived, no one was in the office (at 4 p.m.) and our reservations were taped to the door with a spot assigned about as far away from the motel as possible. We never saw anyone from the office either that night or the next morning. The maintenance man seemed friendly but he didn't know much about the running of the park. And the people who were there seemed to be weekly or monthly renters. Also not too friendly.
We found this to be an enjoyable park to stay in. Right on the Rogue River. Sites are level cement with grassy area. We stayed 3 nights while visiting family in the area. The older couple that run it are very nice and helpful. There are a lot of permanent residents around the edges of the park, but still fellow travelers to visit with. Beautiful surroundings and convenient to Grants Pass. Laundry area was clean and reasonable.
Our site was very small with no table, and we had to unhook our tow to get into it. There seemed to be a lot of permanent residents, which we prefer to be with fellow travelers. It was well kept and landscaped nicely. Staff was very friendly and nice; laundry room was small but clean. Very close to the road, so we had road noise.
There were a lot of permanent residents there. We prefer to stay with fellow travelers. Sites are small, but well landscaped and clean. Staff was very nice with a fairly well stocked store. This was the most expensive park we stayed at in our 16 day trip and most of them were nicer than this. I doubt we would go back or recommend this park.
