This is a nice clean park with easy access. The staff is friendly and helpful; the grounds are nice and clean; and big-rig friendly due to limited landscaping. There are no campfires allowed, except at the one "community" fire pit. There's a bit of road noise from the highway, but it's an easy drive to restaurants and shopping. We'd stay here again - but it might get boring for a week's stay, especially if you have kids (I don't remember much of a playground and there wasn't a dog park).

This has been rebuilt since Hurricane Katrina, and is a wonderful place to stay! The facilities are immaculate; there's lots of hiking and bike paths; the educational center is interesting; and of course the beach is spectacular! Each site is enormous. Your closest neighbor might be 75 feet away. Everyone is friendly and helpful, and you're a quick drive from all the fun restaurants and shopping in Gulf Shores. This is a massive park. Going to the beach will entail either a hike or a bike ride. It was approximately 3/4 mile from our site on Bobcat Rd, but you can drive to the larger pier where there is car parking. We will definitely camp here again; it was a wonderful experience!

This is the nicest RV park we've ever stayed at! The grounds are beautifully landscaped and immaculate. Bathrooms/showers are clean. The staff are wonderfully friendly and helpful. The Kamp K-9 dog park is 7500 sq ft of fenced fun; plus there are hiking paths with strategically-placed poo bags and trash cans. There's a rental canoe available for the beautiful lake; plus fishing. They offer lots of activities; we just had their pancake breakfast with a wonderful variety of breakfast foods for $5 per person. As others have said, we heard the occasional jet going overhead; but for the most part, this place is wonderfully quiet. Sites are level, some have fire pits; all have very nice resin picnic tables. There's sufficient light at night to walk the dogs, but not too much to block out a beautiful view of the night sky. We will definitely be making this a regular destination. So glad we found it! As an aside, for all the dogs who are camping here, we never heard any barking. Back to the "a tired dog is a good dog" adage! They can get ample exercise here!

Our kayaking group stayed here while we paddled the area, and the friendly and knowledgeable owner did a wonderful job of placing us all together, tenters and RVers alike. The sites are very wooded and feel nicely "private." I'm not sure this place accommodates big rigs since my Class C scraped a few overhead tree branches as I drove in; but my site was roomy enough and level. The park was at capacity, with the happy sounds of people and kids having fun; but at Quiet Time, the owner makes the rounds and the campground gets peacefully quiet. Paddle Brave offers canoes/kayaks/tubes for rent; and the crystal-clear river is a paddler's dream. We will absolutely be back next year!!

Our kayaking group was in the area, so I stayed here, and found it a quiet and beautiful park! As others have mentioned, the sites are a bit close: but the view is awesome! This area is Paddler's Heaven; the islands are beautiful and protected enough for recreational kayaks to venture out. The Park Host let us leave our kayaks on the grassy lawn at the water's edge, which was nice! The pier makes for a pleasant view, and the beach/swim area was nice and sandy for kids to play in. The restrooms and showers are spotless; the sites are level and grassy with a bit of shade provided by a smattering of mature trees. I think the WiFi deliberately cuts out after a certain time period, but reconnecting was quick. I had no problems downloading pictures of our trip. Cedarville and the neighboring town of Hessel are fun and quaint. I will make a point of coming back to Loon's Point next year!! The only downside (and it's really minor): overflow parking for extra vehicles (or my kayak trailer) is on the north side of the bathrooms, and that's a longish walk and out-of-sight. Didn't seem like a security issue, however; since the whole RV Park is well off the road.

This campground has reverted back to the original owners and is now called the Sturgeon VALLEY Campground. www.sturgeonvalleycampground.com The new owners are very nice, and are sad there's so much confusion about whether they're open or not. The grounds are beautiful, almost park-like: and the shady/grassy sites are the biggest I've ever seen in all my years of camping. We stayed here before and loved it. We'll come back again next year with our kayaking group, since the access to the Sturgeon River is so handy!!

Our paddle group stayed here, and the very nice owner gave us a whole section to camp in. It appears that they did a lot of upgrading in the past few years; the sites are spacious and shaded (but not very level); the interior roads are gravel and smooth - but the 3/4 mi gravel public road leading to this park is "washboarded to the max". (Certainly not the RV Park's fault). To its credit - it's a wonderfully quiet place; we heard Loons calling in the distance as we sat around the campfire. The owner mentioned that the economy has been bad, and he might not have the park open past July. By all means, call to make sure this place is open before arriving!

This place needs a lot of TLC. It's hard to find at night: signage is difficult to see. The middle RV sites are all badly hollowed into the grass, so after a rain they were pretty wet. Fortunately, the only gravel/level site (#21) was open. Many of the electric boxes appeared to be damaged or had covers missing. But it's quiet (except for the neighborhood dogs who bark at any movement, and seem to run loose at times) and the shower was nice enough (and clean). It IS close to the Talladega track (we saw closer RV Parks, but guess they are only open for race weekends?) Wi-Fi was quirky: didn't work in the evening, but worked the following morning.

I have ambivalent feelings about this place: the location is amazing: close to the racetrack and all the businesses located nearby. But being located right next to Int'l Speedway Blvd means it's NOISY (glad we weren't here during Bike Week). The sites are level; but we were parked on a "new" site, which was covered in broken gravel (hard on my dogs' feet and they sure didn't want to lay down on the stuff) and was located where all the RV arrivals tended to sit and check in, so we were treated regularly to diesel exhaust from the big rigs. My biggest warning for women: if you plan to use the campground shower - use the one in the second building if you have a shred of modesty! Parking a corner shower in the middle of the "public area" of the restrooms and pulling a shower curtain across the room is NOT acceptable, in my opinion. If someone needs to use the second toilet stall, they will be sharing your "shower enclosure" in the front restroom building. Surely a place with grounds so well-cared-for could give us a shower enclosure with privacy and a smidge of security?? If we ever go back, I will ask for an older site with grass and a concrete patio; and will use the second shower bldg. Still can't beat the location, though.

A nice place for an overnight (cash or check only). Sites were a bit small, but all we required was a place to sleep and shower in the AM. Nice and quiet; pleasant management; dog-friendly.

This was the 3rd time we've stayed here - although it's a pricey overnight stay at $37, we at least know it's clean, safe; and for being right off the expressway, it's fairly quiet. Late-night check-in is easy, and the sites are relatively level and well-maintained. I'm sure this place is fun in the summer, with all the invitations and cozy spots for those who enjoy Bluegrass music to "sit and pick". We'll continue to use it as an overnight as we travel from Michigan to Florida.

This RV Park is in the middle of Outdoor Lover's Paradise!! Several of us from a kayak club stayed here either in the motorhome or tent. For the Sturgeon River paddle: we simply launched from the lovely mowed lawn of the park's Frisbee Golf course and met the rest of our group in Wolverine, about 3 miles by water downstream. The folks in the site next to us had ORVs, so there must be trails nearby; plus a biking/hiking trail is across the street. The whole setting is park-like and tranquil. The owners are very nice; and the level, grassy and partly-shaded sites are all 55' x 75', which is HUGE compared to most private RV parks. We will DEFINITELY be back for next year's paddle. I think some of the folks who opted for no-showers and pit-toilets at the State campground will be opting for this place, too!

We stopped in here as we traveled to Florida and we were lucky to get the last spot, an "overflow" site. It still had electric/water/cable and was perfectly nice! If you like Flea Markets - this is the spot for you!! It's next to a HUGE flea market - although I'm glad we missed the congestion THAT must cause on weekends :-)

What a nice park!! It's shady, quiet, and feels very secluded due to the trees/palms/shrubs between each site. There's a lovely path that goes back to a lake (no swimming there, though); and then on to a shopping mall/grocery store. They offer lots of activities for their campers. We really enjoyed our stay!!

This is a beautiful park, and the people are friendly and nice. There's just one reason I didn't give them a "10"-- Trains. Lots of 'em, all night long - blowing their horns and making the ground shake because they're about 50 yards away. For a light sleeper like myself, it was a long night. Had I had access to this website when we were making our plans for the night, I would have driven a little further, I think?

This was a great overnight spot - convenient to I-80, yet quiet. It's NOT a place to stay for more than one night. It appears the place is for sale - which might explain the lack of "care" - trust me, most women will be unnerved at seeing D-con bait in the restroom and mold growing on the walls.

I've read the disparaging reviews, and decided that some folks expected a spa-like "resort"? It's not a resort - it's an RV Park in Wyoming, which tend to be dusty or muddy, depending on the weather, although we had ample grass surrounding us. It's amidst beautiful horse ranches with an eye-popping view of the Tetons in the background! I feel the folks who own and run the park were friendly and helpful; and had a sufficiently-stocked convenience store. The WiFIisignal was strong and our site was level. There's a creek that flows through the park, so each section feels nice and "secluded" - it's very quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay there again!

What a great RV Park! We liked it so much we made a reservation for our return trip - it's close to shopping/grocery/restaurants; and the folks who run the park are friendly and helpful. We appreciated the nice grassy strips between spaces! The only reason I didn't give this a perfect ten score is that it would be nice to have a better "dog area" - a 3' strip of grass isn't sufficient in my dogs' minds...LOL!

We make it a point to stop at this RV Park! It's clean, well-run, and the fenced dog run is SO appreciated after several days on the road!!!

We were impressed by the friendly staff and clean grounds! Even though it was Memorial Day Weekend, the park seemed happy and organized, and was quiet at night. We'll stay here again!!

I'm surprised by some of the other responses, because the woman who greeted us at the front counter was warm, friendly, and helpful!!! (Pointed out a nice open field next door where we could run our dogs for a bit, after being on the road all day - that was VERY much appreciated!) We found the park to be just fine for our overnight stay, and the facilities were very nice. We will stay here again the next time we pass through.

After 2 solid days of driving, our dogs were SO happy to have a chance to gallop around the large fenced dog park!! This is a beautiful tree-filled park with large spaces and great ambiance - I'm sure the sites towards the back of the park are quieter, but the ones closest to the dog park (and highway) have some road noise. We will DEFINITELY stay here again!!

This is one of the Crown Jewels of RV Parks if you like the beach!! Fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing on the shore. It's also one of the few beaches where dogs are allowed to be walked, leashed, on the beach; and ours LOVE it there!! Please, dog owners: pick up after your pets. Don't let us lose this privilege!

This park is rapidly becoming our favorite on the Gulf - it's quiet and friendly; and the undeveloped land next door allows us to take long walks along the beach at low tide. A perfect place if you want to get away from the hustle of so many other Florida tourist locations!

This is a lovely, well-maintained park with a nice little beach. Owners are friendly and helpful: even the campers here seemed extra-nice! The only drawback, occurring a few days each month, is listening to Air Force weapons being tested at Eglin Air Force Base across the street! For those like me who are light sleepers: this is a little alarming in the middle of the night. LOL!!

It's not the fanciest park we've ever stayed at, but the owners are friendly. There's a nice family-style restaurant on the premises. And there ARE spaces that are on the oceanfront! (No sewer hookups for these.)

First, the directions in the Trailer Life RV Park guide are misleading - it's hard to tell "eastbound" when the road (Rte 4)runs north and south. The bath facilities need to be cleaner...the layer of mildew in the shower was unacceptable. The park seems OK - a lot of seasonals stay there, it appears. Our biggest complaint was being parked at the eastern edge of the rather empty park (nearest Rte 4) - across the street is a large wood processing center that runs 24 hrs a day, judging by the noise level all night long. A site closer to the center or opposite end should be quieter?

This is a big, bustling park with lots of seasonals. Everyone seems to follow the rules, however, because it was quiet by 11 PM. There's a nice family restaurant across the street from the RV park.

What a fun place to stay!!! The staff are fun and helpful; we enjoyed a blueberry pancake breakfast they offered on Saturday morning. There's lots of places to walk and view the north end of Mt Desert Island, which is beautiful! We appreciated being able to use the free shuttle bus to visit the city of Bar Harbor; and to catch other tour buses from there to Acadia Nat'l Park. And since the shuttle stops at other campgrounds, we were able to see that we were glad we stayed at THIS one!!

This is a beautiful, well-maintained park in a very nice area! Very "woodsy" and quiet feeling for being in a city. You CAN walk to local restaurants, but it's a long stroll; it's about 1 1/2 mile to the beach. We will stay here again, when in the area!

This is a nice park, but you need to take speedy showers!! You'll wait 2 of your allotted 5 minutes for the hot water to arrive.

This is a wonderful RV Park - I wish it were closer to our home because our grandkids would have so much fun here! They offer a cute little mini-golf course, plus badminton, horseshoes, volleyball, etc The owners are terrific, the facilities are spotless - and we really appreciated the dog-friendly hiking trails. We will go out of our way to stay here again!!
