We stayed as Coast to Coast members. We were put in a area on a concrete pad but we were jammed up and sites were very small. We had no place to park our tow vehicle and we had to keep moving it around as people came in and out. The campground was large with a lot of permanent campers and they have all the nicer spots. There were narrow roads and sites were very hard to get into plus the roads had stupid little wood fences at most turn areas. They were very tight to maneuver. We saw two coaches come in and scrape their sides on these fences. The staff was very nice and helpful but the general impression we got was that the campground was run down and needed lots of TLC.
We loved Wassamki Springs. Lots of family activities. The staff was very helpful and polite. We extended our stay because of the nice area. Just minutes from Portland and many fun things to do. We noticed that as soon as a camper checked out the staff was there to rake and clean up the site for the next use. We were impressed. The only draw back was no cable but we got several good stations with our antenna! Adult card games every Tuesday night. Bingo every Wednesday night. Band every Saturday night, something for everyone!
We did not stay at this park but ventured up to see it before considering it for future use. The directions to get there say there is a 6 mile winding road to entrance. This is UNDERSTATEMENT. Talk about remote! Yes,it was a terrible 6 mile winding run, all UP! We would not even try to pull our fifth wheel up there plus once you got there and you wanted to go to town or sight-see the area there was that terrible 6 mile up and down road. The views were pretty awesome going up the mountain, the campground looked OK but we didn't even go in the office to find out. No way would we try that drive but I guess some would enjoy the remoteness of the campground.
Great campground. Friendly people and very helpful. Lots of activities planned for everyone of all ages. Nice, shady and level sites. The water doesn't taste too good. We added a in-line filter to our fifth wheel and that did the trick. We will definitely return to this one!
The best place to camp in Maryland! Lots of things to do for the family. Great fishing and crabbing pier! Beautiful river views all over the campground. Friendly people and very helpful. Highly recommend.
