This park is for those who enjoy quiet and unique desert scenery. Staff in the Visitor Center are friendly and information about the area is available. The restrooms and showers are spotless. There are shaded picnic tables and fire rings at each site. We went to nearby Carrizozo for wi-fi and cell phone service. Our rate was based on the National Park Senior Pass.
When we stayed at Hidden Valley Ranch three years ago, we loved the desert setting, but were not impressed with the cold, rude reception in the office. We decided to return anyway, and couldn't believe the difference! The new owners and office staff have made this one of the friendliest RV parks we've stayed in over the past several years! The owner came to our campsite to see if everything went well with our hook-up! The permanent and long-term residents are delighted with the new owners and management as well. If you had a bad experience in the past at Hidden Valley Ranch, give staying there another chance if you're in the area. We stayed here on our AOR membership.
Closest RV park to the Theodore Roosevelt National Park southern entrance. Sites are roughly-crushed red rock, and quite close together. Lovely shade trees throughout the campgrounds. Staff seems very eager to please. Would stay here again if in the area, but Medora is a "been-there-done-that" type of place.
This was a more-than-adequate RV stop-over park along Highway 2 in Malta, Montana. It was far enough away from the RxR tracks to not be kept awake by train noise. There were large shade trees, and the sites were grassy and level. Across the road was the city park and ball field. There was only one bathroom/shower, but it was spotless. We'd stay here again if passing through MT.
