We stayed here for the weekend and really enjoyed our stay. The bathhouse was quaint, but nice and the park is very, very quiet. There is no pool or activities whatsoever for anyone at the park, but this is a good location if you are enjoying the outer banks. There is no water access at the park, so you are forced to leave the campground to enjoy the ocean or the sound. The only problems we had were trying to navigate in and park after dark since we arrived late. There is only 1 light in this park, so this was very, very difficult. There isn't even a light on the office, so I had to use a flashlight to retrieve our parking information from the bulletin board. Also, the mosquitos were so bad that I felt like I was being eaten alive. The mosquito problem is not just a night problem: they attacked even during the day. Other than that, this was a nice campground serving as a base location for our fun on the outer banks.
We stayed here for over a week, so we became very familiar with this campground. It is in a good location, and the staff was very friendly. They had lots of activities, and the stream is really beautiful. My biggest complaint and warning to other travelers is that if you don't get a stream side site, you are pretty much going to have no room at all. This makes getting into and out of your site quite difficult unless you have one of the few pull thru sites. They cram everyone in so close that if you put your awnings out, they touch the awning of the person next to you. We literally had our awnings overhanging the awning of the rig next to us. There is just no room. It gets very frustrating no matter how good your neighbors are. Other than that, it is a decent park that just needs updating. I don't think we will visit this park again if we are in the area. I go camping to get away. At this campground, you feel like you are living in New York city.
This is a fun park to stay at. The sites are very difficult to get into if you have a large RV. Also, it rained the day we left which made for quite a bit of mud since most sites are not paved. the showers are a bit scary. There is not a drain for each shower. Instead, The water from the shower stall next to you runs through your shower to get to the end stall which does have a drain. This does not seem very sanitary. So, if you are in the end stall with the drain, you have four other peoples shower water running into your stall. Yuck!!! I decided just to use my own shower. There are a lot of golf carts with people going no where, which does get a bit annoying. Other than that, it is a nice park at a great location.
This park is in a beautiful location. The problem was that we arrived late and had a hard time finding information. There is a note on the office door stating that we should call the owners. The only problem is that there is NO CELL SERVICE down there. We finally kept driving until we found some service and made the call. The owner told me to find a spot, which was somewhat difficult when we weren't familiar with the park. We did find a location which was just by the lake, which was nice. The only problem, though, was that we had to raise the front of our fifth wheel almost 2 feet to get level. Also, the sewer location was way behind the site and up hill. My sewer would not drain, so I was basically struggling to clean the lines and my tank. The worst thing about this park was that they had kareoke night that night, and it was so loud that sleep was impossible. Drunk people sang all night until well past midnight. This was just a terrible experience. The park is probably a great place, but our experience was less than stellar.
What a find!!! This park is in a beautiful location. Lot's of friendly people and the staff go way out of your way to help! The best sites are back-ins. The pull thru's have no view. The roads were pretty narrow, but the sites were very level. We had no real problem getting in or setting up. We will definitely be back.
This is a decent park, but definitely needs some work. We arrived only to find out that they had not saved some of the very few and precious "slide out" sites for us. We had quite a time getting in. There were two of us in our group, and both had slides. We did fit, but it was very, very tight. Be very careful when parking. Also, while our sites were moderately level, there were some sites that would be absolutely impossible to get level in. I noticed a few people didn't even try to level. There are a lot of tents here. Overall, it was OK, but definitely not the best place to camp. In addition, don't come with illusions of finding diamonds. There were hundreds of people looking when we were, and no one found any of them for several days.
This park is fine for a quick night stay, but definitely not somewhere to stay long term. We arrived late and found a pull thru easy enough, but after getting in, the site we had was only a 30 amp. We had to move, which was quite frustrating so late. Other than that, it was fine.
This was a nice park near I-95 and an outlet mall. The staff was very friendly. We stayed over the 4th of July, and they had a lot of activities going on including a "pig pickin'" and games for the kids. The only problem was that the gnats were so bad during the party that your food was literally covered with them and no amount of shooing would get them to fly away. I quickly tossed the food and headed to the trailer. The cost was too high, but the park was clean and well cared for. My site was not level, and from the number of blocks under other's tires and motorhome tires jacked off the ground, I assume many other sites were not level as well. We would stay here again, though.
This campground is right on the ocean. That is really the only thing it has going for it. It is very tight, people don't really have room to park their tow vehicles, so they are basically out on the road. Getting our fifth wheel through the tight streets was ridiculous. There were lots of kids, but people driving through drove way to fast. They rent golf carts, which is just silly since there is just about no place to go. But, these golf carts fill up the streets. The price is just way too high for what you get. Also, they charge a high rate to begin with, then you have to add $5 per child per night. The wifi is $2 for 15 minutes which is almost a slap in the face since you are already spending so much. The park was fine, but for this much money I expect much more.
This is a fantastic camp for your family. The camp was full of children, but yet it was very quiet and relaxing. The pool was very refreshing and the shower house is so nice and new. The staff was so helpful for anything, and they were very accommodating for a late check out after a fun day at Busch Gardens. We will definitely be heading back to this campsite in the future.
The park was fine for a night, but it is not a destination location. The sites and the roads are unpaved. The showerhouse was clean, but it is very old and uninviting. The pool was nice and the playground was old but in good condition. The price was high for what you get.
