Great little park just off I-90, first exit after Kellogg heading East. Main business is the Gold Mine tour, they don't even talk about the RV park on their web site, just mention it is there. They are doing a lot of work to make the sites big rig friendly. We stayed in 45' rig and found the new sites asphalt paved, level and full coach length; others are gravel. Sites have decent separation on well maintained gravel roads, about four 50 amp sites the rest are 30 amp. Newer sites are wide and free of obstructions; we backed in. Clean. They have plans for pull-throughs eventually but not now. Full hookups. Very close to the freeway but not excessively noisy. Nice 71 mile paved bicycle trail across the road with lots of room for dogs to run free down by the river. Uncrowded when we stayed. Nice people, working to improve the park, interesting area and exhibits, and there is always the gold mine tour. A find for a quick overnight. Try it; I will again.
I don’t usually post but these folks deserve a special mention. If you don’t like trees, stay across the road at Jellystone, if you want a little piece of seclusion and privacy and a sense of inclusion, stay here. We work on the road, have a mobile business that keeps us in gas and peanuts and really value a restful place to come “home” to after a hard day. The nights we stayed there, June 20-25 they had a couple of folksingers and an ice cream social on Wed and Fri nites, free. The grass is green and lush, the spaces far enough apart, the big rig pull through were excellent and we appreciated the friendly folks running the place who really care how they present themselves, their park and your experience. Maybe we were just lucky or open but we met several nice folks who were full timing or extended and were invited over to examine rigs, swap recipes and lies and just socialize. Reception on our Verizon Aircard was dismal but the free wifi was first rate. They have cable and apparently a phone access so no problem with net access. Saw plenty of folks using the Dish for TV. Definitely on our short list of places to stay again.
