This was our second visit here, stayed here six years ago and still as nice and the same friendly owners & staff. This time we stayed a month here. Very quiet, beautiful ocean views and could listen to the surf/waves during the night. Many excellent restaurants nearby in Crescent City & Brookings, Oregon, Also the Ship-A-Shore restaurant within walking distance. I would assume it would be a very hard place to get a site during the summer months. We stayed in a 5th wheel and will probably be back there in the next couple of months but will definitely stay there again !
The clerk at check in desk was overwhelmed with a few late people checking in. We couldn't get a site with sewer hookup. Sites are crowded together and the way the sites were arranged I was afraid that our slide outs might hit the slide outs of the travel trailer next to us. We had couple inches, so not much privacy. It is over priced for the crowded conditions and less than scenic location. We spent one night there in our 5th wheel. We will not return to this KOA, we have stayed at a few other KOA locations that were much better.
We camped here on the lake side for 2 weeks. There was beautiful weather and lake views ! The new manager, has been here since April 2008, was very nice & helpful. He'd check with us almost daily to see if everything was ok and if we needed anything. He's been cleaning up the place since he's been here, has moved all of the of the permanent units out, with a policy of two week maximum stay. There is wireless internet, but the signal is a little weak at times. We were told he's installing a new antenna to boost the signal soon. The Park is no longer "trashed" and we would definitely stay here again.
