I'd like to know how this campground got such great ratings from previous posts. We had to stay here for an extended time and by the previous reviews thought we had lucked out. The cable worked but only for 39 stations. The WiFi was slow and sporadic 99% of the time. They were great at check in but the rest of the time completely clueless. The staff weren't aware of the area, didn't know about restaurants, road closings, parks, lakes, etc. Quiet hours weren't enforced and their attitude seemed to be, "Oh Well." There is absolutely no water pressure on our site and from talking to other campers, not any in the park. The power went out three times in less than two weeks and not once was it weather related. I gave them a three because the cookies were good, the park was clean, and it was easy access to the highway. Anything else would be a disservice to others. Will not stay here again regardless of the reason.

Just a one night stop and lots of trees to get around to get on and off site. WiFi is just okay and cable TV is strong but channel selection is not good. Nobody in the office but a host came off site to get us and show us where to park. Wouldn't want to come in or leave in the dark. Nice people but wouldn't stay here again for reasons other than the campground.

Lots of shade as the name would imply. Easy in and out, but not really near much. Several miles to restaurants and traffic is a nightmare. Many seasonal or year round residents, but still not bad. Site was level and the WiFi and Cable were good. We stayed two nights and would again if we had to pass through this area.

This review is accurate for us but your own needs may be different. We spent a month here because it's only six blocks from our kids and grandkids. Lots of permanent residents and when Tropical Storm Debby hit here they had a lot of flooding and had to move people all around for a day or two while things dried out. The Wi-Fi failed halfway through our stay and took them two weeks to get service back up and that was poor at best. Cable is available only if you know to make prior arrangements with Brighthouse and have a tech person meet you on site for installation and then again to depart. The owner doesn't live on site and the camp host did a good job of keeping up with the problems. The rate mentioned is without electric. That's metered and we expect our bill to be sent to our home. It's reasonably quiet and getting in and out was no problem. If you know Pinellas County you know how the traffic is and how long it takes to get around. We wouldn't stay here again but it is close to our family.

This is okay for a one or two night stay. We stayed two nights, one one the way out and one on the way back. Lots of skeeters. Lots of contruction in front of the park but that is just temporary. Owners are friendly and the park is clean. Sites for an evening only are near the entrance but still quiet. We'd stay again for a night only since it's convenient when we leave the state by the southeast.

We stayed here for a week. More improvements were made here since our three day stay here last year. Park management is friendly and helpful. The park is clean. Even with a playground and a pool the park is still quiet and relaxing. WiFi can be spotty but we didn't have any serious issues. The cable TV is strong and it was a convenient location to our planned activities.

We used this place as an overnight park and it doesn't make the grade for that in our opinion. Some camper let a fire burn after they left, we informed the mgt. and they let it burn/smolder for two hours before doing anything and it smoked something awful. We offered to put it out ourselves and were "warned" to stay away from it in case something toxic was in the fire ring. There is absolutely nothing within five miles of the campground. It's just off the interstate and you can fall asleep at night counting the trucks going north and south on the interstate. The pull through sites are on the short side. Be careful walking as the trees have exposed roots. The place has the look and feel of an unkempt park but there are signs of mgt. trying to catch up with the debris. Also be prepared for the pet fee which isn't advertised and I guess is paying for the pet play area. WiFi is okay but the television reception is very poor.

Not even a good overnight park. No television reception, WiFi only if close to the office. Dog park is nice but gate won't keep small pets in. Overnight sights aren't close to being level. We like our creature comforts but this just didn't measure up. Most other KOA's have been okay but this didn't come up to par, especially for the price.

This is listed as an Adult RV park but we saw a few kids. Not a problem. This was jst an overnight stop for us but we will happily go back. A clean, well-kept park with a small well stocked lake. Cable and WiFi were strong and free. Looking forward to a second visit.

This is definitely a mixed review park and you must read to see if the negatives apply to you. We made a long stay here because the sites were the best around or we would have left after one night. The park is relatively quiet and it's close to Cade's Cove which was our primary objective. This is a park located in a no cell phone service area. I mean zero bars all the time. Here comes the biggest disappointment for us. They literally lock the place up from midnight to 7:00 a.m. You can't get out of the place. If you had a health emergency you can't get out. What kind of lunacy is that? We wanted to bird and watch other wildlife. Cade's Cove was a 20 minute drive away and we couldn't get there in the early morning as needed because we were held hostage at the campground. We had no idea about this until we were completely set up and left the campground and saw the sign. We talked to the owners and asked about this and they refused to understand. We checked other campgrounds and couldn't get the same spot for the whole time we were there. In fact, it would have taken three moves and we would have no place at all over the July 4th weekend. If this isn't an issue for you then you'll like this place. We wouldn't stay here again, however.

If you camp here during a rainshower every site has waterfront access. It does seem to drain quickly however. The cable is okay once you set up as is the WIFI. The staff when we checked in wasn't exactly knowledgeable. We had our reservation confirmation for a pull-through but the young lady argued that their wasn't one available since they had a Coachman Rally booked. It took the general manager (who was able to read the confirmation) to move us to a pull-through site. Sites are narrow and driving around the park requires your RV to bend and slide around other rigs. If you plan on just an overnight stay, plan on unhooking your vehicles. The sites aren't long enough. It is close to restaurants and country music venues if that's your thing. .

The park is constantly under repair and maintenance. If the Mississippi hasn't flooded the place and shut it down, it's a magnet for heavy rains and high winds. The maintenance department is constantly fixing roads, electricity, sites, moving limbs and while it's got a great view it doesn't offer much in the way of peace of mind. The folks who work here are terrific. We had so chane sites due to loss of electricity. We only left to find some of the restaurants we saw on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Lots of folks we met only stayed a couple of days and then left. We would stay here again but only with a watchfull eye on the weather.

We spent a week here and during the week it was great. The weekend was packed, primarily with locals. Everyone, including the park has golf-carts. The campground doesn't have worthwhile security. Drunks driving the golf carts, open containers, children and teens unsupervised, and an all day Saturday event where if you weren't wearing one of their red shirts you got blasted with a super soaker. No shade trees anywhere to be found. Next time we visit our granddaughter we will make use of a different campground.

We stayed here three nights (2 on the weekend) and it was a good place to stay. Easy to find, easy access to the site, fuel, restaurants and anything else. The only problem was Saturday night. Campground is close to some kind of racetrack and lots of motorcycle/car noise was hear until late. Campground is doing lots of maintenance to improve sites and increase size. We'd would stay here again, just not over a Saturday night.

Sites are close together. One of the local rib restaurants offered free site pick-up and delivery back to your site. Food was only so-so. Other than claustrophobic, the campground was OK. We won't be back in this area again.

You'd think that will all of the amenities this place would be a camper's paradise. Think again. Dirty, noisy and ill-mannered and ill-tempered staff. This was their big motorcycle week and those people were friendly and helpful. Had the staff, particularly the management, been friendly and helpful we could have overlooked the issues. We planned on staying two weeks but left after 2 nights. This is a place sorely in need of new management. Ask any question about the area, restaurants, attractions and shopping and get a finger pointing to a rack and a surely comment like, "There, if you know how to read." I do know how to read and this shows I know how to write as well.

A quiet campground with a great location near Beaver Lake. The fishing is great and the staff was knowledgeable and courteous. We will be back.

This was a fabulous state park. Quiet when it should be and a great place to spend the entire day. The fishing was great and so were the staff.

Sadly, this park has been sold and is no longer going to host campers.
