Just a good all round campground. Wifi/cable work great. Location is super. Staff are friendly. Great dog walking/hiking areas are nearby: Dinosaur Hill and trails start just south of Kings View Blvd/below the Col National Monument/@1 mile from rv park/ south of bridge. Kind of an off leash area for friendly dogs!
Tiz an older rv park, well maintained with residential rv-rs too. Tiz quiet and close to stores. Kmart, a thrift shop and Smiths grocers are each within a 100 yards. Tiz quiet. Has grassy areas at each site which our dog enjoyed laying about. Lots of shade trees too. Manager is a friendly and happy guy. Our site was conveniently near the restrooms. This site is also where the sewer dump is. On each of our two days there, a large rv rig came by to use the dump and both times they ran their engines and the diesel smell was kinda bad! But this doesn't take forever!!! In spite of this we would definitely return to this camp. Know that cable/wifi worked well and there is an added charge of $1 per day for cable.
This is a beautiful setting. The manager is a gracious host. We stayed two nights at end of season; just two others in rv park. Made for a nice feeling of seclusion. Previous reviewers had indicated wifi available only by managers home. This is what we were told upon checking. He placed us in site #6 which had great wifi. For sure ask for this site! I would have rated this a 10 except for the price. Our price with tax came to $42.32. Many rv camps discount at end of season; this one doesn't. A bit disappointed, but Gunnison is a special Colorado town. Paying full price with wifi potentially not being user friendly within one's camper is an issue that was noted by other reviewers. Cable worked great.
We stayed 11 days and had a rate discount to @$28. Very friendly couple live on site and keep this camp pristine. Liked the artificial turf to step out on. Liked the economical coin operated laundromat. Liked this quiet location. Great for walking dog on nearby BLM land or state park. A quick walk to town, Dollar store around the corner and major grocery/shopping just two miles north. We used the propane BBQ that is located in an inviting small garden/patio corner. Manager gave us a free night after some sewer hookup issues. We will always stay here when visiting family in Dayton.
Having read previous reviews, I was not excited to call for reservation, but am glad to say this is a good place to over nite. Freeway noise is not that bad even when on a dog walk. The cable/wifi work fine. At this time of year, not many campers. I rated this campground based on surroundings: Not exactly a verdant oasis! For a brief stay, ones needs are more than met. Staff are friendly. Do know there are no closer campgrounds with amenities.
Good for what it is. So close to the action downtown Las Vegas has to offer. Freeway and fire department noise did not bother us at all when we had screen door in use. Staff easily accommodated our request to change site as the upright barriers near hookup would have interfered with our slide out. Bellboys have a brochure with map of the strip. We will always come back to this resort campground. Note that Las Vegas Blvd strip has free parking in the hotels and in a large lot we found behind a ally's (corner of Koval and Flamingo). A very user friendly town.
