We have camped at this park a lot and it is a 5 star park. The staff are very friendly and they have a beautiful club house and pool area. They are only 10 miles to Ocala and about 18 to Gainesville. They are just mins from I-75 and you cannot hear the traffic on 75. all sites are concrete and most all are level.
Just to let everyone know this park now wants $30.00 a day to use the clubhouse and kitchen. This is due to some slobs from groups making a mess in the kitchen and ovens. Instead of the park asking for a deposit and making sure the kitchen is as it was when you accepted it, they think they can make a profit. They should have banned the groups that are slobs instead of making all of us pay for their mess. We will not be going back and please tell all the groups about the price, also the camping fee has gone up. The owner of Turning Wheel has again taken over the park.
This park is beautiful, but the owners and their attitude leaves a lot to be desired. They do not give what they say over the phone. We were given a price over the phone then when we arrived they raised it. They have rules and more rules. They will fine you $35.00 for moving a picnic table if you do not put it back in the precise spot it was in. Every guest you have has to pay $5.00 per person, even if they stay 5 minutes, and they are very demanding about getting the money. They are NOT handicap accessable. The only ramp is at the office and this is so steep it is hard for anyone to walk up it. They said the Rec hall was AC, but didn't bother to say it had been broken for a while. When we arrived they didn't say the sewer could not be used till after they had the money in hand. Most parks would have taken off several $ but not here. It is a shame that the owners have no training in public relations. This is the highest priced park in the area. There are other parks a lot cheaper and closer to town. We will NEVER come back here again and it is all due to the management.
