I am not sure I camped at the same CG at the April 2006 campers. The grass was literally knee high. Walking to bath house the grass slapped against our legs. The bath house was muddy (rainy weekend) and the same trash that was in the bathroom garbage can on Friday evening was still there on Sunday morning. YUCK! As far as the staff, the young gentleman that was there was not knowledgeable of CG activities. We went based on free weekend and activity list we received. When I got there I asked if they were still having the "Mardi Gras in July" activities and he said NO. So I did not decorate. Well come Saturday the events DID in fact take place. There is lack of communication between day and evening staff. I wish the owners would take pride in their CG and CUT THE GRASS and empty trash and clean bathrooms and lastly communicate with night/weekend help. The pool was nice but cloudy and not big enough for the 135 sites which were not full so I would hate to see the pool on a full weekend. We will go back only because it close to home for weekend getaway, however our eyes will remain open for other campgrounds that may open in our area. This could be a nice CG if the owners would be a little more aggressive.
Went for crab fest. Was very nice time. The campground is up and running. The staff is very friendly and we enjoyed every minute there. Except for a little noise from the casino being rebuild, we have no complaints. Glad they were working on it and didn't mind the noise. There are workers who are living in CG but they are all up front. Nice pavillion for outdoor cooking. Even though the coast is not what it use to be, I still highly recommend this CG. Nice place for some well needed R&R
This is one of the worst campgrounds we have ever camped at. You basically are camping in the yard with electric (outdated) randomly placed. There are no "sites" per say, you just park on the grass (very unlevel) and plug in where you can find electric. No full hook ups however they just added on a few "sites" (again randomly placed) that have full hook ups but you have to lose an axle to get to them. The roads should be deemed hazardous because there is no cement anywhere and you literally need a 4 wheel drive to get through CG. The owners do not put one cent into this campground and they think the activities they plan make up for it. Well, it won't be long until someone sues them for a fire or losing an axle. Between ancient electrical boxes and holes the size of small car; something bad is surely going to happen. I would strongly advise you not to risk camping here.
Clean can not describe this place. Excellent facilities. Office staff very friendly and helpful. An added plus was complimentary breakfast in office. Casino shuttle came by every 10 to 15 minutes. Great buffet at casino. Great seafood restaurant a few minutes down the street. Nice place. No doubt; we will be back.
Had all intentions of staying here until we rode through. This place is a mess. Leaves were everywhere, just waiting on a snake to crawl out. Messy campsites. Old electrical boxes. Campsites are not clearly marked. Junky mobile home with tractors and tractor parts in front of campground. Office had a horrible odor, couldn't wait to get out of there. Would not recommend it at all and we are not hard to please! Would not go back and highly recommend you do not waste your time. Owners have not put any money into this place. The pond was over grown and disgusting.
Overall nice place. It rained really bad and the bathhouse was full of mud from people coming in and out. Office staff was a male who could have been a lot more sociable. Trash was not picked up the whole weekend but it was not overflowing. Nice level concrete sites. Once the rain stopped we were able to fish in lake that has a nice pier and pavillion attached. Can rent golf carts. Will go back. Wish owners would clean restroom over weekend and keep grass cut.
