This is a no frills campground. The sites are wide and long. They are not tight and each site is has shade. Only about 15 minutes from the sign forest. Worth the drive! Our granddaughter made a sign which we hung for her. We stayed on our way to and from Alaska.
This campground is just a narrow, tight parking lot. The wifi is almost none. Hard to connect and stay connected. Office staff is not friendly or helpful. We made reservations in January for August. Received confirmation for 2 sites with full hookups. About a month before arriving we received info that they made a mistake and they did not have full hookups for us. Our site was barely long enough for our rv and not even close to level. Turns out 6 rvs traveling together called and we were moved to other sites. When we come back we will not be staying here.
This is a new campground and it has level sites. There are 11 FHU sites and 13 with electric (30 and 50 amp) and water. Laundry and bathrooms are very clean. Also a handicapped restroom and room for playing cards/games. We would stay here again.
Great place to stay if to see the Black Hills area. New owner is very friendly. Sites are level and long/wide. There is a railroad track close but it is not very busy. We have stayed here a number of times and will stay again.
Wonderful park. Easy in/out, even towing. Long/wide sites for big rigs facing south for those with satellite. Only 5 miles from Mitchell and excellent Internet with our card. The rate with Good Sams is $30.50 for full hookups.
This CG is close to many tourist attractions. We were in this area looking for furniture for our motorhome. We stayed here a week and the rate shown includes tax. I gave the CG an 8 because of the water. It had a copper smell and LOTS of sediment in our filter. We did not fill our tank here and will try another CG when next in this area.
The rate quoted is Passport rate. There is no office; just a small building where you put cash or check in an envelope and pick your site. Entire park is gravel, but all sites seem to be level. The town of Elk Creek is just a mile or so and there is a grocery store there. There is a Flyinng J at the exit for the campground. We stayed here 3 nights and found it very quiet. Campground is just over 100 miles from CO border, which gave us time to look for a CG in CO. Laundry is $1.25. We had plenty of room for our slides.
The park is very close to Henderson and apple houses. However, in a 40' motorhome we had problems parking. Trees on both sides of the site available and we were never able to get our coach level. The owner helped us park then told us he was going to shut the water off due to possible freeze that night. I asked if we could disconnect water hose and let water drip but we were told no. He also shut off water to bathrooms. I checked "don't know" on pull through sites as we did not see any and the web site does not show any. The owners were very nice but for the price we will not be returning.
This CG is very convenient to sites in OK City and to shopping. Super Walmart, outlet mall, etc. just across the interstate. The sites are level. We did not use the Wi-Fi or the restrooms. You will need a code for the bathrooms. Having said that, the roads inside are a little rough. This is an industrial area and it is very noisy day and night. The noise is the reason for the 8 on my review. Overall, the CG is good for staying a few days to see the area.
We stayed 4 nights in this park (our rate is the PA rate) and found it to be ok. The roads are very rough approaching the park and inside be aware of the many potholes. We had good reception (3G) with our Verizon air card but the Wi-Fi in the park was very poor. The sites are mostly dirt with very little gravel but level. Park is quiet with many sites being long term rentals.
We have stayed at this CG and will continue to do so. It is very clean. While there is only elect and water, they do allow you to let your grey water run on the ground around the trees. They request you move it occasionally. Our rate of $10 was with the Golden Age pass. Even without this pass $20 is not a bad price. You can stay up to 14 days. The sites are paved and have a covered picnic table and a place to park your vehicle. We really enjoy watching the barges go through the lock. Lots to see and do in the area.
The road into the park is very dusty but not bad. The sites are level but our jacks sank down in the gravel to the soft ground below so use pads if you have them. There is NO TV reception so if you don't have satellite only radio available. We stayed here a week to see places close by. The bathroom doors have a code pad but they are unlocked. Each of the 4 bathroom's have showers and are clean. Clean laundry but a little high ($4 to W & D one load). Most seem to use this as an overnight stop.
Campground was OK. Sites were very close together. Slides were almost touching. Very little space to park tow. On the plus side, this CG is not far from Estes Park and RMNP. Sites are level. We would stay here as again as a last resort.
Very nice park. Our site was level with shade that did not interfere with our slides. Sites are very long with enough parking at site for tow vehicle. Staff very nice and helpful. No road noise from interstate but easy on/off. Lots to see in this area.
This CG is well maintained and the owners are very helpful and friendly. The laundry is clean and very reasonable ($1.50 to wash and dry a load). CG is close to I-80, but we had no truck noise. We stayed a week and enjoyed the area. We will come back if traveling through this area.
This CG has close sites but we found it very convenient to OK City. There are 9 sites with 50amp service but these go first. We asked for a large site due to our slides and were given one. If you have 4 slides be sure to let them know so they can give you a wide site. Some sites have small trees on both side that may cause problems with slides. Breakfast at the motel is included with CG sites and use of the motel pool. Office personnel are very friendly and helpful. USE CARE when entering and leaving due to the landscaping timbers! Internet access is available at the office but we had good service with our air card. Cable TV reception was very poor but received good picture with our antenna.
This campground is very nice and the staff is friendly. There is a playground for kids, basketball court, vollyball nets and lots of room. The site we stayed in was level and had plenty of room. The sites and roads are gravel but in good shape. A few shallow holes in the roads but overall ok. We did not notice highway noise until morning when we opened the windows. Ice cream social for the campers the night we stayed here at no charge. Staff said every Saturday night they cook carmel corn for everyone. I did not use the showers/bathrooms but checked them out and they were clean.
This CG is not well maintained. Having said that, they keep the grass cut and each site has it's own trashcan which they pickup on a regular basis. Sites are gravel but level. I said "yes" to the clean bathroom/showers only because I have seen worse and it was early in the morning when I checked them so they may have not been there yet. I saw no mold in the showers and toilets were clean. This CG is good for us as a base to see more of the Parkway, Roanoke and other areas in VA. We even took back roads into WV. Some old trailers in back of CG that are not well maintained at all. If you come here, get a site closer to the front. The roads are gravel but we have not had any problem with dust. No laundry or pool. No place for kids to play. Weekly rate: 7 nights for the price of 6 so the cost was not bad. Most people have stayed only overnight.
We stayed at this CG for a week and paid $186. While I did not use the showers and restrooms I did check them out. They were very clean with lots of light. Nice pool area and level sites. They have Wi-Fi but I used my own Internet service as the signal was stronger. We enjoyed seeing this part of VA and found it to be beautiful. Very good cable service.
The CG accepts PA except 1 week before and after NASCAR race a Bristol. Our weekly rate was $133 including tax. Nice level sites but only 2 pull-thrus. Lots of day trips into the mountains from the CG as well as lake with fishing pier, paddle boat rental.
All sites are level gravel, with a pad for picnic table. Located close to shopping and day trips to the mountains. Park has a fitness room and swimming pool. We found this park to be quiet and clean. Some turns are tight, so we feel it best to unhook tow vehicle when checking in.
Some pull-throughs have trees close to site and may cause problems w/slides. CG is close to many things to see and do in "Land Between the Lakes" and KY Lake and Lake Barkley. CG has daily, weekly, monthly rates and seasonal rates. Phone signal is ok but very bad TV reception. Since there are many full time residents, the area leading to the sites for RVers are varied. Some are very nice while others are overgrown and run-down. We have never had a problem here.
This is a new campground with level sites large enough for your tow and space to sit. No picnic tables yet but they are in the works. New bath house being build and will be finished shortly. Wi-Fi is available in the park but seems to be weak at times. They also have a couple of units for rent if needed. Lots to do in this area and beautiful views in every direction.
I have reviewed this campground before and wanted to update it. Discounts for FMCA, Escapees, Good Sam and Camp Club (seasonal) are accepted. Wi-Fi has been updated, now is all over the park and has a very good signal. Laundry is still free. River is high at this time of year but so far, no flooding. If you book for a week, one day is free. Still has wonderful views of river traffic. One of our favorite RV parks!
We only stayed 1 night but sites were level (no cement pads), all pull-thrus, and it was very quiet. No restrictions on using PA or Camp Club except Memorial Day. Since we were only there 1 night (and it rained all night) we did not check out the laundry, showers, etc. Nothing fancy but we will stay here again.
This is a great park if you are visiting the Charleston, SC area. Always clean and owners are great people. The park is about 40 miles from downtown Charleston and about 23 miles from Summerville. This may sound like a long way to drive but once you get on I-26 no problems. The park is quiet and easy to find. Not many RV parks in the Charleston area. We are full-timers and are here from mid November through mid January every year.
