Nice COE park scheduled for updates this winter. Restrooms were rustic but reasonable clean considering that and the shower was nice and warm. The best waterfront sites do not have electricity. We stayed 3 days at a waterfront site with electricity but with limited access to the water. We had hoped to be able to tie up our boat but there was too much tall, tall grass to do that so we had to launch every time we went out. Had luck catching catfish. The $9.00 rate is the half price senior federal pass rate.
Park was OK, site almost level but not quite. Office has short hours but camp host is available. It was hot when we were there and mosquitoes and biting flies were a problem. Fishing was poor. Nature center is very small. If we go back it will be during the winter when it is cooler and pests are not so annoying.
Camped 3 nights because very near to Sea World and to public express bus service downtown. Park was clean and otherwise as expected for an older park. We were disappointed that the shuttle to Sea World did not run regularly as we had been led to believe. There is only one time to go to Sea World and two options for pick up daily. The pickup times miss the last shows of the day. So be aware! We walked and it was a long walk (over a mile) without sidewalks. There is hourly public bus service so if you time it just right you can take that. Other complaint was that the shower in the women room was cold water only. Staff was grouchy on Friday but friendly on Sunday so maybe just a bad day? We will look elsewhere before going back again.
