The campground was clean, big, a nice place for evening walks. There are friendly people, and a nice swimming pool. They let our grandson ride an ATV very slowly around the park and he loved that. The area has nothing in it but the Badlands National Park, but that is what we came to do and see, so from this site we did the park twice and we did venture to Wall and the famous drugstore there. We stayed 2 nights, there wasn't enough in the area to keep us there any longer than that. The population of Interior SD is 67! It is tiny.

My only disappointment with the park is the fact you have a lake for fishing and a pond for bumper boats and yet the water is very yucky and full of growth, you cannot really fish, you are constantly tangled and we could not use the bumper boats either, because when we got out in the water the moss growth plugged them up and it was a challenge to get back to shore as they were barely moving. I chose the site for the amenities for my grandchildren and was disappointed that those things were really not available. On the good side, the people are friendly and the campground is a nice place to spend time. The mosquitoes about carried us away. We got lots of bites and we did use lots of repellent spray to no avail.

We have been in the South Dakota area for 8 days, staying here and there, a few miles away from each other visiting all the sites. This campground has been a pleasure to stay at. VERY beautiful, very clean and so comfortable. Wonderful ATV trails leaving right from the site. The owners are very nice people and friendly and helpful to answer questions. Our grandson caught fish and they cooked his dinner. Then he fished their stream and kept himself so entertained and he says this is the best campsite of the trip. The sites are close together, but we had great neighbors on both sides, so we just enjoyed making new friends. Would highly recommend it to anyone in the area.

We enjoyed our one night at this KOA campground. Our grandson fished in the trout pond (you pay by the inch) he caught a couple and was really excited about it. Our granddaughter took a paddle boat ride in the other pond and she enjoyed that. It is a nice park and the people were helpful and pleasant. We were not crowded at all where we parked and the lawns were beautiful green. We would definitely stay here again.

We have stayed at Big Meadows Campground twice and both times we really had beautiful private sites. Very nice place for taking evening walks and enjoying nature. We travel with children and this is one of their favorite spots. We will definitely go again in the future. there is a lake for fishing. We didn't catch any fish, but the kids enjoyed it anyway.

This is a beautiful campground. Not as much private space as we like, but a very nice campground. We stopped without a reservation and we were lucky to be able to spend one night. There was a nice walking area to walk our dog and we had a picnic table for cooking out and enjoying the evening. We would definitely go back and make reservations to get a spot right on the river next time. There are lots of bugs, so you need to dress appropriately and have a supply of bug spray. Friendly owners, doing a great job.

This was not a favorite stop of ours. There is nothing wrong with the park, but there is nothing special about it either. The best part was a trip to the hot tub in the evening, and being the only people there in the pool area. That was relaxing. We just always hope for each night to be a memorable experience and this park brought nothing to create a special memory. We would look for a different place next time through Bakersfield. The staff was friendly and we appreciated that.

We had a site in the back of the park under the Redwood trees and it was just spectacular! We had the most enjoyable evenings cooking at camp, sitting near the bonfire and enjoying the forest setting. We traveled from NM to Oregon and back home, and of the many nights out and the many RV parks, this was my favorite of the whole trip. Beautiful and well kept. Helpful staff and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone who likes the peace and quiet of camping.

This is a nice enough place, but compared to others, if you want a memorial extra special place to stay, this is not the one. Not their fault, just not a very pretty area. The people were extra friendly and helpful, but the park just lacks for beauty and things to make the stay great. We would look for a different stop on our next travels through the area. Make it to a different town or area for the evening.

We stayed at this campground twice in 2008, once in the spring and once in the fall. Great place, comfortable and nice environment. Quiet and peaceful evenings to sit out and BBQ dinner. The second trip we woke up in the morning to 7 buck right around the RV. It was spectacular, they were eating the grasses and plants and didn't appear to be afraid of the people, they hung out quite some time. After all was said and done, I think we had as many beautiful pictures of the deer as we did of the grand canyon. Great experience and would definitely stay here again. Made for a great place to use the bus/shuttle service to view the park.

This was one of the best places ever, the atmosphere was spectacular, we were with our grandchildren, who had the stream to play in, a pool to swim in, we hiked the stream and walkways, there is a pond with ducks and a goose that was personality plus. A swing was right behind our campsite they swag on. The rec room had a piano which was great for our granddaughter who is taking piano lessons. Our bonfires with the neighbors at night were the greatest fun, friendly people who go there all the time. We really enjoyed this park and would definitely go back again if in the area.

The park is absolutely beautiful if you love the woods and the big trees, which we do. The grounds were spectacular for enjoying evening cookouts and the quiet of the night. The restrooms were very dirty, not clean at all, we didn't want to shower in them and the laundry room was worse. With no place to even sit while you waited for the laundry to finish. The owners were friendly and helpful, A bit more work is needed in the common areas. We would definitely go back, but would not make it a laundry evening and would just plan on showering in the RV.
