Nice place for an overnight stop. Owners very helpful. Not a destination though.

We stayed at Malaquite. No hookups but a wonderful view of the ocean. Only $8 a night. Dogs allowed on the beach.

Not bad, but a bit overpriced and they are going up on the rates. A nice park but sites are close together and Wi-Fi is spotty.

I rarely give a campground a 10 rating because so few seem to "have it all". This one does. Huge clubhouse with all the amenities. Pool, hot tub, huge paved sites. Close to everything in Gulf Shores. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Worth every penny.

Sites are rather small. Nice amenities. Electricity is a problem. We only had 30 amp at our site and our HW50 shut down the power to our coach several times due to low voltage. All in all a nice park for a stop over. Just off I75.

Pretty nice park. Sites are rather wooded so sat TV is hard to get but they have a nice cable system. Had to make a U turn on highway to get to park which could be a problem for some.

Not bad, but for this kind of price I expect paved sites. Or at least gravel. These are dirt and get very muddy in the rain. Sites are large and well spaced. Dog park is not completely fenced so be careful.

Terrible place. The sites are nasty and close together and the workers are the rudest that I have ever encountered. They would not let any one come in to check out the park and I know why. If you did, you would go somewhere else. Take your money elsewhere!

They have completely redone this park All sites are now paved with 30 or 50 amp, sewer, and water. Many are directly on Mobile Bay. There are brand new bath houses too. They also raised their rates to $30 a night which is a bit steep for this park. You can stay at Gulf State Park for the same price. But, that said, these are very nice upgrades and we will stop in again.

A very nice park. All sites have level concrete pads. Free wi-fi, and pool. Close to Gulf Shores. I will stay here again.

Overall a very nice campground. The sites are a bit tight and it's rather pricey. The folks that work there are very nice and helpful. The sites are well landscaped and if you want to spend $10 a night more, you can get one of the bay front sites. Pool was small but clean. We'll be back.

I would probably rate the campground a little higher if the roads were paved. The dirt/gravel interior roads are very dusty except when it rains and then they become muddy. At this price I would expect paved roads. Other than that, a great place! The site pads are long and level. Free wifi that is actually high speed. Large grassy areas to walk the dogs as well as a fenced dog run area. Very convenient to the Williamsburg attractions and easy access to I-64. The office folks are very friendly as well.

Large Coast to Coast campground near Virginia Beach. All in all very nice, and we would return. Free wifi, 3 large pools, playgrounds, fenced dog run. A few things to keep in mind though. Even though the address is Virginia Beach, you are 20-30 minutes from the actual resort area. I would look for an alternate route to get here next time. Indian River Rd. is VERY narrow with no shoulders. I would drive a few extra miles and avoid that road. The grass at most of the sites was rather high due to the recent rains. Everything else was top notch. Very friendly folks, good electric voltage, paved roads and site pads.

I usually rate COE parks a 9 or a 10 but can't with this one. It's still a nice park but it's just not one of the better ones. The sites were rather narrow and some are very close together. Not what you usually get with COE. Overall not bad and we would probably stay here again. I just felt more crammed in that I'm used to at these type of parks.

Very nice park. Sites are well spaced and it appears the owners are continuing to make improvements to this fairly new park.

I would rate this park a 10 except it had no sewer and very few 50 amp sites. But what a park! I don't think I've ever seen a state park with so much to do. A marina, restaurant, museum, tanks and airplanes on display and even a train. Sites are nice and well spaced. We will be back to this one.

Brand new campground. All sites are concrete and level. Wi-Fi works great and is free. Interior roads are paved. Sites are well spaced and can handle the largest rigs. We will stay here again.

Not bad overall and from what I saw, the best park in the area. Very close to Bellingrath Gardens. A few sites are landscaped with small trees but most of the park is a big open gravel lot with no shade. Probably not a destination park but a nice place if you're visiting the area. Try to get one of the sites up front, near the office. Some fire ant mounds in the dog walk area. Owners were very pleasant. We will stay here again next year when we visit Bellingrath to see the Christmas lights.

Nice campground on the inlet. Great fishing is available here. The pull thrus are huge, the waterfront sites are very short for the most part. All in all pretty good with one problem. BEES! The park is full of sea grape trees and the bees love them. We could not sit outside anytime during the day without being attacked by swarms of them. Several children were heard crying because they had been stung several times. Not sure if it's a seasonal thing but it pretty much ruined our stay here.

Older Florida state park. This is a small state park that is centered around Florida's highest waterfall. Several nice (but short) hiking trails. Also has a small swimming area. The campground is older with 30 amp service. Most sites are not suitable for larger rigs but there are about 4 or 5 that could handle a 40 footer although it would be a tight squeeze. Most sites are nicely shaded with private patio areas.

This state park is not bad. Most of the sites are rather small. We couldn't open our awning in ours because it was too narrow. The sites are very well spaced and secluded. Sites and roads are packed sand and can get messy in wet weather. The park has a very nice beach on the Gulf Of Mexico. There are nicer state parks in the area but this one is usually easier to get site availability.

Awful. This is a Coast to Coast GNP and I've learned not to expect much from these but this one is really bad. The sites are crammed very close together. Your slides may touch. The campground is dirty and a lot of the campers look like they've been there for years. I would not consider staying here if it was free.

Very nice COE campground. Most sites could handle any rig. Some are very deep. Most of the sites are heavily wooded. 35-40 are lake front and only partially wooded. Would stay here again. Pretty far from the closest store so bring what you need.

Most sites were sand, deep sand in spots. Saw one person get stuck. The majority of the sites are small but a few will handle larger rigs. The island is very remote with only a couple of eateries. But for pure peace and quiet at the beach, this park can't be beat. I just wish the sites were nicer.

Nice state park with a variety of sites. Some were very small and unlevel and others were large enough for a 40 footer. Huge swimming pool and wonderful trails in the park. Most of the sites are sand and could cause problems for some vehicles.

Not a destination but a very nice stopover campground. Just 2 minutes off I-10. Sites were fairly spacious and the owners very nice. Plus they have a small but fenced in dog run area so you can let your pets run a bit. We would stop here again.

Very nice mountain-top state park. The road to the park is steep with switchbacks but we did just fine with a 35 motorhome and toad. The sites are wooded. Lots of hiking trails in the park. We will be back to this one.

Let me start by saying this park isn't for everyone. If you go to state parks for the private sites and wooded areas, you won't like this one. The sites are very close to each other and most are rather short. All sand pads. That said, where else can you get an ocean front site for around 20 bucks. The sunrise view from the back of our rig was fantastic. No shade so summer stays will be really hot.

There are 2 very different campgrounds here. The river CG is more for smaller rigs and the beach campground handles bigger rigs. We stayed at the beach campground which is a short walk to the ocean. There is no shade so summer stays could be very hot. The bath house needs updating but all in all, a great place. The state park has lots of trails plus a civil war fort to explore.

Very nice CG. The sites are very roomy and can handle most any size rig. You are not crammed in against your neighbor as in so many privately owned campgrounds. They have an indoor pool, spa as well as an outdoor lake for swimming. They also have a small gauge train they run in the summer and on weekends other times of the year. Two things keep it from being a 10. Fire ants. Lots of ant mounds in the common areas. Not a problem on the sites but if you walk a dog, be careful as there are lots of mounds in the dog walking areas as well as on the playground. The other issue was the rudeness of an employee. We were in the spa and the room temp was 92 degrees. It was like a sauna. We propped open the door for a few minutes to get a bit of cool air and a man came by, pushed the door shut and proceeded to counsel us on why the door had to be closed. He acted like he was talking to his children. Everyone else at the park was very nice. Maybe this guy just had a bad day.

Sites are very close together as is typical for a private park. That's one reason we prefer state parks or COE parks. Very friendly park management. Upkeep on park is very good except for fire ant mounds. Pet policy is a bit anal. For instance, you can't have pet on a chain next to you when sitting out. Must be on a hand held leash. That said, probably one of the better parks in Tallahassee. Rates go up on FSU football weekends.

Very pretty as are most COE parks. Bathhouses are not close to campsites at all. And then there are the ants. Not fire ants but little sugar ants. They can and will invade your RV. I was briefed on this when we checked in. We had to put Comet around every item that touched the ground. What a pain. I will never be back here for that reason. Way more trouble than it's worth.

Not bad for a private campground. Some sites were very close but they had a few that were roomy. Lots of activities. We prefer state park or COE campgrounds but this Coast to Coast resort is fine if you can stand close together sites.

Yuk. Sites were awful. Electric boxes falling apart. Only saving grace was the swimming area. A cool spring. I would recommend staying somewhere else and day visiting because this campground is terrible.

Lovely state park. The sites are varied, some only usable for a tent and others can fit the largest RV. Check first before you book a site. Some sites are waterfront. The waterfront sites are on the bay. There is a nice beach area on the Gulf too. We will be back here.

Not bad for a KOA. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The sites were not very level and a little cramped. The wi-fi was poor in most areas of the campground. With some fixing up, this could be quite nice but as it is, it's an overpriced KOA, nothing more.

Very nice campground located on Rocky Bayou about 30 minutes from Destin. Some sites are a little tight but most are quite spacious and secluded. Bathhouse was spotless. Several nice nature trails. One drawback, the sites are basically sand and get very messy after a rain but they are quick to dry.

This is a new campground in Pigeon Forge. It is located next door to Creekside Campground. The sites are gravel with concrete pads. There is no shade yet. The owner has planted lots of trees so one day there will be shade. Nice views of Waldens Creek. Bottom line, nothing spectacular but the price is right and you are right in the middle of Pigeon Forge. Wi-Fi worked great too!

Very nice COE campground. Some of the waterfront sites are spectacular. You have your choice of wooded or waterfront sites. Most of the wooded sites are gravel and the waterfront sites are paved. Two reasons for an 8 rating; no sewer, not a big deal but it would be nice to have, and tons of fire ants. They should treat the mounds and get rid of that problem. Be very careful when walking your dogs.

All in all a great campground and the other reviews sum up the good pretty well. But here's my gripe. Disney makes a fortune on this campground and they do a good job with it. However, the loop roads are very narrow and the have many trashcans, site markers, elec. boxes, etc. along the sides of the roads making access to many sites very difficult. During our stay we saw several other folks having a terrible time trying to get into their sites. Disney should spend a few of their millions and make site access easier.

Ditto the above. Skeeters were beyond belief. By the time you hit the bottom step of the camper, 20 were on you. That said, the park was very nice. The loop roads had some pretty tight turns for our 35' fiver. Be careful.

Not for big rigs. Our 35' fiver had a tough time getting to our site. Lots of tight turns and overhangs. The park itself is nice but the campground leaves a lot to be desired.

Nice Coast to Coast campground near the casinos in Mississippi. It appears they have done some repairs since we were last here 2 years ago. Several new concrete sites, nice pool with a hot tub as well as a lake with paddle boats and putt putt.

Very nice campground. This park was basically destroyed during Hurricane Ivan and Alabama has really taken the ball and run with it at Gulf State Park. Right now, 04/05, about 100 sites are opened and they plan on opening around 100 per month until all 500 are back open. ALL sites are now paved, both patio and pad, have 30/50 amp and sewer. You are about a mile from the beach.
04/2005

Very nice state park close to the Gulf Of Mexico. Some of the sites are very short so pay close attention to the details if you make your reservation on reserveamerica.com. Some of the park itself is still closed due to the devastation from Ivan last year but it is slowly getting back to normal. You have a small beach on the lagoon and the Gulf is a 10 minute drive away.

The only thing that saves me from rating this campground a 1 is the fact the state park that it's in is beautiful with good outdoor activities. That said, the campground itself is a disaster. The loop road through the campground is plain dirt, or should I say, mud. Full of ruts and potholes. If there has been rain during the previous week, you will be walking in mud. The sites are even worse. They are also dirt/mud. Almost all of the sites had standing pools of water in them. The sites are also at 90 degree angles from the narrow road making big rig access VERY difficult. It would only take some paving or gravel to make the road and sites much better. And the final straw, the dump station is at the end of a road so after you dump you have to make a very sharp turn to get back out. My 30' fifth wheel would never have made it. Also, the road the dump station is on was a mud pit as well.

Great park located in the Blackwater River State Forest. There is a campground on both the north and south side of the lake each with 15 sites and about half of those are waterfront. Fishing, hiking and canoeing are available at this gem. Sites are paved and large, very level.

Nice large and level sites in a very large state park. We have stayed at this park before and would do so again. Sites and access roads are large enough for any size RV.
