The only thing typical of KOA was the price - over priced. Lady in office very nice and helpful. Utilities worked fine, but no cable. Gravel is sparse so there is dust blowing around. There are very few trees for shade and none for big rig sites. There is no landscaping save some small native desert plants here and there. Most trains are barely noticeable, but some rumble right through the leveler pads and there are many of them day and night. The tracks were right in front of our coach. We have stayed at much nicer parks across the country for much less and cable included. Not likely we would stay here again.
Not pretty but easy access, easy in/easy out and quiet. WiFi slow but all Verizon goodies worked good. This park does have cable with 24 clear channels. Shuttle to/from casino very prompt and courteous. Casino restaurant reasonably priced and very good food. Good choice for an overnight after along day of driving. A bargain at $18 + tax. Would stay again.
Our kind of RV park: Beautiful setting, easy in/easy out, close to interstate, clean and quiet. Long, wide pull through easily accommodated our big rig plus tow. The young owners have obviously worked hard to make this into a great overnight or longer destination. Almost felt badly using PPA. Word getting out, they were full. Would definitely stay again.
This is our kind of park. Not fancy, beautiful setting, easy in/easy out. Sites are long and wide so our big rig with tow fit easily into space. Only about 1/2 mile off I-10 and no noise at all. Did not use laundry or restrooms. Had dessert in cozy, little restaurant, delicious home made key lime pie and lemon cheese cake. The managers and owners are very, very busy working on the property and offering any service you may need. They are so friendly and helpful, it makes you want to support their park. We wish we had time to stay longer and relax, but would definitely stay again.
Had to laugh when we arrived after reading only other review. Must have been written by owner. This is not a 10 but is a perfectly adequate park. It's all gravel with no shade and minimal landscaping. To be fair, this was a mobile home park destroyed by Katrina so it will likely look better with time. While we had a pull through for our big rig in a wide space, we had to lower car off tow dolly to fit - which we would have done anyway to tour area. There was room next to coach to park vehicle. Utilities located in nice, modern pedestal. Park is located right across highway from beautiful white sand beaches and only 10 miles to Biloxi. Pet area is not usable yet, if ever. The managers who checked us are absolutely delightful. Very friendly and helpful. Husband directed us to site. Overall park had all we need; clean, quiet and well located. We would stay here again any time.
Not sure why all the high ratings. This is just an OK park. Check in was forced friendly but efficient. Interior roads tight for big rigs and bumpy, broken asphalt. Had to try twice to get our 40 footer with tow into the so called pull through and with help from the office staff. The whole place is not particularly well maintained but it was quiet and located near friends we were visiting. It's pricey for what we got. We would look elsewhere when in the Ft. Worth area.
We stayed 6 nights here while visiting friends. It's not a resort but had everything we look for. It is clean, quiet, easy in//easy out, and close to things we want to visit. We don't use resort facilities anyway and are fully self contained. Backing our big rig was a snap into a very wide, long space - one try!. Managers are the nicest and most helpful of any place we have ever stayed. New owners spending time and money to clean up and improve. Price listed is average of GS and PPA, 3 nights each. This is a bargain and would stay again gladly.
We stayed 3 nights in a huge, wide space with all connections perfectly placed for our 40 footer plus tow vehicle. Manager was very friendly and helpful. The site is gravel with no trees but everything was spotless and quiet. We were visiting the City of Prescott so we had to drive about 15 minutes, perfectly acceptable for this great RV park.
Seems like the park is in the middle of nowhere but was reasonably along our route to try it. At the PA rate, it was worth the stop. Check-in was easy and friendly. We were guided to our site. The sites and roads are gravel, dirt and probably a mess in the rain but was dry for our stay. Our site was level so we did not have to put down the levelers. Small amount of traffic on FM 969 but not intrusive. This was a good stop for us for an overnight. We would stay here again.
We don't need the amenities of fancy parks on this trip so this park was great for an overnight. It's right off the freeway. In fact, you can see the traffic but it was not noisy. The site was wide and easy in/out. It's just a gravel parking lot but we did not have to level - site was level. At the PA rate, this park should not be bypassed. Owner was very nice and accommodating. We would stay here again.
Very nice people at check-in although kind of slow. Unless you have something to do in this area it's way off the freeway. But for the rate it was worth the drive. The sites are decent and wide with utilities convenient for hook up. This was a good stop for an overnight.
Perfect park for overnight. Access is easy on/off freeway. The overall site is so huge the trucks coming and going are not a bother and the park is at the far rear of the site. The pull throughs were very easy to get into/out of and the utility connections convenient;y located. We would stay here again.
Park suited us fine for 2 nights. Don't expect amenities, there are none. There are several permanent, sort of trashy RV's. Could only see 3 pull through sites. Water, power, sewer, cable worked good. Manager very busy trying to keep up place but really makes his living as a fisherman. Might stay again due to price and convenience.
We stayed here for 9 nights while visiting family in the area. The park is clean and well maintained. There is most definitely traffic noise from the freeway but it gets quieter late evening. The young lady in the office seemed to be overwhelmed and not particularly friendly. We were given the weekly rate for seven days but she would not give us the 1/2 price for Tuesday and Wednesday since we did not arrive on one of those days, plus we were charged full price for the extra 2 days, not at the weekly rate. While the overall sites are wide, the actual paved portion is very tight and the pull throughs just barely accommodated our 30' motorhome and tow vehicle. We had to drive the vehicle onto the tow dolly every night to fit. The water, electric, and sewer connections are way at the back of the site - make sure you have extensions for your connections. There is a concrete patio on the exit door side but since we had to pull so far forward, we stepped out into the bushes. When we come back to the area in April, 2011, we will try to find an alternative but the pickings are slim.
We stayed here twice in October and enjoyed the park very much. The ladies in the office were very nice and helpful - we were actually greeted with a friendly "Hello and Welcome". The park is spotless as are the restrooms and showers. The sites are flat and easy in and out. It's obviously a new park since the trees are still small. Did not use the Wi-Fi as we have a Verizon wireless which gave us great reception. We would definitely stay again when we travel through.
