What a lovely campground! This little treasure is nestled in a valley, with the Milk River on one side and a horse shoe shaped, man made lake on the other. We had a pull through power site which was fairly open, but there were quite a few sites that were well treed. There are paddle boats and canoes for rent on the man made lake, and a nice beach area. They have a nice little store with treats, and very clean washroom and shower facilities. We would definitely go back again!
We love this campground! The sites are private and well treed, but offer full hook ups and pull through sites if desired. There are sites that can be easily accessed by groups, with cook houses and a nice playground. There is a boat launch for access to the river, and the campground is close to Drayton Valley which offers shopping, movies and a variety of restaurants. This was our second trip to the campsite, and we were pleased again by the service and the campground. Firewood is free, and there is a nice family atmosphere (lots of kids riding bikes, families with pets, etc.). We will definitely go back again!
The campground itself is lovely, with lots of activities for kids, amazingly clean washroom facilities, and lots of extra amenities. We enjoyed the free breakfast, the pool, the petting zoo, and our kids really liked the bikes, volleyball and basketball. Our biggest complaint was with the size of the sites. Our site was incredibly tight to get into, and the sewer hook up was almost useless, seeing that it was located at the very front of the site. We could barely park our truck in front of our trailer. As well, the staff was very unorganized (although extra friendly and helpful). We were camping with a friend's family and upon arrival, asked how close our site was to theirs. According to them, our friends had no site reserved. We hastily booked them another site. Lo and behold, when our friends checked in, they did have a site, but were told that We didn't have a site booked and hadn't checked in yet, at which time they quickly booked US another site. It was a lot of needless stress for both parties. Once we were both there, everything was okay, although our friends found a note at their site on the second day of our four day stay wondering why they were still there, as the staff had them checking out the day before (the original booking was for all four days). They need to either get a more user friendly computer reservation system or do some much needed tech training with their staff.
We camped here for four nights while we visited Silverwood and Coeur D'Alene. Our site was nice, large and level. The pull through sites, however, have you cheek to jowl with the next unit. I'm glad we were in a back in site. The pool and laundry room facilities were clean, but the washrooms and showers need to be either refurbished or cleaned very well (one shower stall had the same bathing suit liner stuck to the wall for the entire stay). The main reason for the lower rating was the staff. They were less than friendly, wouldn't make eye contact, and didn't seem to want to help out with anything. The campground has free coffee and a microwave, but no one mentioned it to us, we had to find it on our own.
