We have stayed at this park before and it continues to be one of our favorite destinations. The staff is very friendly and go out of their way to assist to insure a pleasant stay. Sites are very spacious and the park is situated out of the city, but within easy access of shopping and area sights. The grounds are very well kept, wifi is very good and most of the sites now have cable. The park has increased their water storage capabilities and the water pressure was very good. Good clean 50 amp power source. To address previous comments: The majority of parks will not allow you to wash RVs or vehicles! The washouts due to the heavy rains were not in areas that caused any problems for entry or exit into the sites or the park. We will definitely stay here again next year.
The nightly rate reflects the Good Sam discount. We have stayed at this park previously and once again enjoyed out stay. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the "upper" sites, surrounded by trees and with a nice deck. In order to get to the upper area sites, there is a very steep hill to traverse, but the sites are very well situated to make access very easy. Upper sites have 30 amp service with water, sewer, cable and very good Wi-Fi. Water pressure is good and the power is very reliable. The majority of the people staying in this park are summer residents, so reservations would be highly recommended. Very close to all the shops of Ruidoso, the casinos and horse track. Park is right on a major highway, but the number of trees make the highway noise hardly noticeable. We will definitely stay in this park again, and in another year or two, hope to become one of the "Summer Residents"
Price reflects the rate for one free night after staying seven nights. We have visited this campground previously and each time we come back improvements have been made. About half the sites have cable TV hookups at this time with the rest to be installed during the next year. Registration staff is very helpful and friendly as are all the staff. Owner is very involved with day to day operations. Sites are very spacious and level. Park is only 14 miles to nearest grocery store and Camping World is not much further. Centrally located to all the "must see" things in the Colo Springs area. Easy access for any size rig on well maintained roads. Abundant shade and wildlife are available at no extra charge!
Our rate reflects a $2/night fee for 50 amp service. Park is an older park with mostly permanent residents and is off the beaten path so it was very quiet. Sites were level with concrete pads and grassy area. Wi-Fi was adequate, good cable, nice swimming pool and good amount of shade. There are two reasons that we did not rate the park higher: 1) The water comes from a well source and had an extremely strong sulfur smell. 2) The back fence, of an otherwise nice pet area, did not meet the ground. Over half of it was 12 inches high of the ground and even a medium size dog could easily get out and into the large pasture that is adjacent. Park is very well located for Baylor Games or any other activity in the Waco area. Water odor is a deal breaker for my wife to return.
Rate reflects the Value Kard discount and 50 amp service which does have an additional fee. This is a very well maintained, family friendly park that is centrally located to all attractions in the Albuquerque and Santa Fe areas. The grounds were very clean, the swimming pool was well maintained and the staff is very friendly and helpful. While there we needed to replace a tire and the owner contacted a local tire shop and checked on availability for us. Our 4 year old Grandson enjoyed the playground and we all enjoyed the outdoor movies shown on Friday and Saturday nights. Shade is limited, but numerous new trees have been planted to provide future shade. Sites are very level and hook ups are well placed. Some turns in the park are a little tight, but we had no problems maneuvering our 34 ft fifth wheel to our site. We will definitely return to this park and would recommend it for both over night stops as well as a destination park.
Have camped in this park many times over the past few years and always enjoyed it. When we arrived on this trip, our reserved site was occupied and the site description we had been given when making the reservation was totally misleading. Campground owner was extremely rude and told us that since we were upset it was probably better we did not stay. This park is going downhill in my opinion. Only redeeming fact is that the seasonal workers are extremely friendly and helpful: it was one of them that recommended where would could stay late on a Friday night. We will not be staying in this park in the future.
This is a brand new park that has only been opened for a couple of months. Not much there at this point. Just basic hook ups. The owner told us that the materials for the rest rooms where going to be arriving the next week. Wi-Fi that was listed on sign did not exist. Friendly owner. Sewer hook ups are set way to the rear of the sites. 20+ feet of sewer hose needed. Photos on web site are a bit misleading. Good for an overnight stay.
Rate reflects Good Sam discount. This is a very nice park set on a hillside with lots of shady level sites. The shady sites up on the "hill" have 30 amp service and many have decks with railings. If you need 50 amp service there are a number of sites that will meet your needs on the "lower" level of this park. This is a family operation, run by very friendly and helpful people. We had an issue with the transmission on our tow vehicle and their son pulled out trailer down to the entrance for us when we left. During the season they have many activities on site and we really enjoyed the breakfasts that were served. Many people stay in this park for months at a time and we found all of the quests to be very friendly. We will definitely return to this park and would highly recommend it. Best park we have found in the Ruidoso area!
This is our second visit to this park. The first being six years ago. On this trip we stayed for 9 days. The owners have vastly improved this park. Sites are all crushed granite, terraced and most are shady. While we were there they were planting flower gardens at the bases of a number of the terraces, for a very nice touch. The Wi-Fi is good, a little on the slow side. As others have mentioned the water pressure is low, this is probably due to the fact they haul all their own water in for the facility. Restrooms and grounds very clean. There is a large dog park, however the fence used has rather large opening at the base. The other issue for us, they do not restrict by breed and there were some large aggressive breeds in the park during our stay. We did not have any cellular signal with AT&T. Had to go down the road about a mile for a signal. The drive into the city for groceries or to get to the sights of the area is not really an issue. The only negative issue we had was with the long term and cabin residents. They did not seem to understand that the 5mph speed limit pertained to everyone. We definitely plan on coming back to this park again, and will not wait 6 years this time!
We stayed in this park as an overnight stop on our way to Colorado. The staff was very friendly. The sites were very roomy and roads were excellent and had plenty of room to handle big rigs. We did not use the Wi-Fi, cable TV was very good. We would definitely use this park again. Others have mentioned the noise of trains and the smell of cattle. Yes both were here, but not an issue as far as we were concerned.
This park is good for an overnight stay. It is mostly filled with permanent residents, even the cabins seemed to be occupied by permanent rodents. We stayed on a Friday night and there was a lot of traffic in and out of the park. Designated pet run was in poor repair and very small. Large pull through sites in center of the park are good for overnighting. Easy to get in and out of.
This was our fourth visit to this park. Since last year they have added a pet "play yard" that is very nicely fenced and shaded. There was comfortable seating available while the dogs played. They also had a Saturday night concert/sing along, done by one of the park owners that was very nice and a lot of fun. Park is very well maintained and they do have a 24-hour security patrol. Extremely friendly staff.
My wife and I had the great pleasure of staying at this RV park. We were in site L-5 and loved that area, with all the trees. We have been RV'ing for a number of years, and have never been all that fond of KOA parks. Most of them are cookie-cutter with no personality, the park or the employees: not so with this facility. Everything was well maintained and the personnel were all very friendly. We had an issue with two cable TV channels that stopped working. I mentioned it to one of the staff while walking my dogs. The next morning we had all channels! By the way, our beagles also loved your park! Rest assured, the next time we are in that area (probably Spring 2010) we will be making reservations to relax under your beautiful oaks! Thank you again, and keep up the great work!
