This is a wonderful park for touring the surrounding area. Office staff was friendly and helpful, all utilities were up to par and over the air TV was good. Verizon service was on the slow end but tolerable. I would give this park a 10 but some sites were not satellite friendly because of trees, and the gravel exit road after a rain was muddy. Rate reflects a Passport America discount. We would stay here again if in the area
I must say the previous post almost scared us away from this gem in the country. Yes, I will agree the person answering the phone needs to keep it on their person but she was very friendly and helpful and accurate with directions to the park. This resort once the new expressway gets finished will be very convenient. The park is immaculately kept. Sites are spacious and all utilities are up to par. If they proceed with future planning this will be an exceptional resort. As for fire rings and picnic tables I believe it would take away from the looks. I would definitely come back for a longer stay. The rate reflects a Passport America and Good Sam discount.
Camp hosts were very friendly folks, center section of park is where the FHU sites are. Most would accommodate a 40' rig. 30 amp electricity was sub par, when park was 1/2 full our power was not enough to power the A/C on site 70 but I think other sites were fine. Park was clean and even had a security gate. Beautiful lake front sites without FHU available. Unfortunately this park is in need of repairs but due to budget cuts it's not in the cards at this time. We would return as it was the only viable option in the area.
Park is beautiful and very family friendly. Park was clean, did not get to check restroom facilities so do not know what their condition was. Check in was easy but person did not have a map for directions to site which made it a little confusing. Utilities were not located conveniently. If you have a roof mount Sat dish there is no reception due to a lot of trees. I would camp here again if need be.
This was a very large park. Not many camping at this time of year. Check in by park manager was friendly. Laundry room was clean. Park had lots for kids to do. Being a new park the trees were not big enough to give shade. Verizon cell worked good but on another carrier. Verizon MiFi also was roaming. This park would get more business if they lowered the price some. Other than that it was a nice place to camp.
This is an excellent park right on Lake Huron. 99% of sites have seasonal trailers so getting in during the summer may be hard. There is a max length of 37' & some sites the sewer & electric are in opposite directions. Park is within walking/biking distance to downtown shops, Wal-Mart and restaurants. Beautiful sandy beach and next door to harbor/marina. Nice playground for kids. Verizon cell & MiFi worked well. Park is right on main Hwy through town so road noise may bother some.
This was an older park with a lot of seasonal trailers. FHU sites were at the entrance of the park. Only W/E available around the river and inner section. No one was in the office so it was self pay. It made for a nice 2 day stay but the town has pretty much closed up.
This is a hidden treasure ! Check in staff was friendly. All sites are FHU with cable. Most sites were level and grassy. After Labor Day daily rates are discounted $5. Weekly rates were $110.Very kid friendly with large play ground. Verizon phone & MiFi worked but was on another carriers tower. There were several seasonal sites but blended in well with the surroundings. There was a biking path from the park to town which made it convent. Across the street there was the Grice Museum, Coast Guard station and PaPa G's Cafe with the best blueberry pancakes ever. Prices were way to cheap and the food was excellent. We stayed here for a week and are considering coming back for the whole summer. The only reason I didn't give this park a 10 was it did not have concrete pads.
As said before this park has a lot of seasonals but they are in their separate area. Sights were level and grassy. We were here in off season so not many people in the park. Park was clean and check in staff was friendly. Would not want to spend a week here but it was good for 2 nights to be able to sight see the Frankenmuth area.
Overall this park was very nice. Check in staff was friendly and an escort to your site. All sites were grassy so don't know what would happen in rainy weather. Water & sewer hooks were a fair distance apart. Over all this was a nice park and would camp here again.
Would not recommend this park for the riverfront sites. We stayed in #40 & #45 and both sites the power was less than 108 volts. The first night we unplugged it was so bad. Site #45 was a little better but not by much. If you don't check your voltage before you plug in here you may end up with damage to your RV. I can't speak for the off river sites. When we stopped by the day before to make a reservation we were charged $2 extra for making the reservation which I thought was odd but didn't question since we were excited to be staying on the river, that was before I knew about the power problem. When we went to the office to see if we could move the manager said the park was built in 1977 and they haven't redone the electrical, but offered no refund or apology. Would I stay here again NO !
We were just going to stay here two nights but the park was so nice we stayed three. We were lucky enough to get a waterfront site #72 in the full hookup section. The 50 amp on the pedestal was not grounded which forced us to use 30 amp, which wasn't a problem. This park is absolutely GREAT! Walks on the beach which was right out our door and the area is beautiful. I highly recommend this park as a stop on your way.
Previous post was correct in every aspect. Manager advised that Passport America discount was not available during October as they had to make every buck they could when we checked in but did not mention when I called 15 minutes previous. Roads were dusty, and all full hookup sites were taken by seasonal campers.
