Another great weekend at Quail Valley. Stayed in site #95. Great green grass, shady trees, too many flies. The campground had an oldies band and an ice cream social on Saturday night. My only dislike was the additional 5 dollar charge for A/C, without planning on using ours. The management charged the fee based on the RV and the outside temperature. We will go back.
We stayed in Blue Jay site 10. The wildlife was phenomenal. When we registered, 5 deer walked in front of the rig. Saw numerous deer and turkey all weekend. The only negatives are the road traffic next to the campsites and a sewer backup that did not allow me to finish dumping my tanks. I think the sewer backup was just due to the volume of people emptying tanks prior to leaving today. We will be going back, hopefully into an odd numbered site in Blue Jay, they are away from the road.
Great place to camp. It has nice wide sites, easy back in with our 40-foot ToyHauler. Had a live band and homemade ice cream social this last Saturday. Has no cable TV, no cell phone access. Did not miss those. Was a red tailed hawk with babies in the tree right next to our site, wild turkeys walking by the roads. A great place to get away from civilization for a few days. A lot of kids and golfcarts running around.
Full hookups including cable TV Trees are not mature, no shade available. The lights from the gas station next door came through our skylight all night. Gravel sites with concrete pad, just enough room for my trailer, had to park the tow rig in a parking lot 50 yards away (Site 13). 1 mile to Exchange and Commissary. Right next to E-Club and MWR pool. Gas station is a small market for soda's and drinks.
This place keeps getting better. This was our 4th visit in the last 12 months, we keep seeing incremental improvements. Friendly staff, great area. The river was very full, didn't have any luck fishing. We had 5 RV's in our group, no issues in any site.
